General Description
The MAX4051/MAX4052/MAX4053 and
MAX4051A/MAX4052A/MAX4053A are low-voltage, CMOS
analog ICs configured as an 8-channel multiplexer
(MAX4051/A),two 4-channel multiplexers (MAX4052/A), and
three sin-gle-pole/double-throw (SPDT) switches
(MAX4053/A).The A-suffix parts are fully characterized for on-resistance match, on-resistance flatness, and low leakage.
These CMOS devices can operate continuously with dual
power supplies ranging from ±2.7V to ±8V or a single supply
between +2.7V and +16V. Each switch can handle rail-to-rail
analog signals. The off-leakage current is only 0.1nA at +25°C or
5nA at +85°C (MAX4051A/MAX4052A/MAX4053A).
All digital inputs have 0.8V to 2.4V logic thresholds,ensuring
TTL/CMOS-logic compatibility when using ±5V or a single +5V
supply.

General DescriptionThe MAX200–MAX211/MAX213 transceivers aredesigned for RS-232 and V.28 communication inter-faces where ±12V supplies are not available. On-boardcharge pumps convert the +5V input to the ±10V need-ed for RS-232 output levels. The MAX201 and MAX209operate from +5V and +12V, and contain a +12V to -12V charge-pump voltage converter.The MAX200–MAX211/MAX213 drivers and receiversmeet all EIA/TIA-232E and CCITT V.28 specifications ata data rate of 20kbps. The drivers maintain the ±5VEIA/TIA-232E output signal levels at data rates inexcess of 120kbps when loaded in accordance with theEIA/TIA-232E specification.The 5µW shutdown mode of the MAX200, MAX205,MAX206, and MAX211 conserves energy in battery-powered systems. The MAX213 has an active-low shut-down and an active-high receiver enable control. Tworeceivers of the MAX213 are active, allowing ring indica-tor (RI) to be monitored easily using only 75µW power.The MAX211 and MAX213 are available in a 28-pinwide small-outline (SO) package and a 28-pin shrinksmall-outline (SSOP) package, which occupies only40% of the area of the SO. The MAX207 is now avail-able in a 24-pin SO package and a 24-pin SSOP. The MAX202E–MAX213E, MAX232E/MAX241E linedrivers/receivers are designed for RS-232 and V.28communications in harsh environments. Each transmitteroutput and receiver input is protected against ±15kVelectrostatic discharge (ESD) shocks, without latchup.The various combinations of features are outlined in theSelector Guide.The drivers and receivers for all tendevices meet all EIA/TIA-232E and CCITT V.28specifications at data rates up to 120kbps, when loadedin accordance with the EIA/TIA-232E specification.
The MAX211E/MAX213E/MAX241E are available in 28-pin SO packages, as well as a 28-pin SSOP that uses60% less board space. The MAX202E/MAX232E comein 16-pin TSSOP, narrow SO, wide SO, and DIPpackages. The MAX203E comes in a 20-pin DIP/SOpackage, and needs no external charge-pumpcapacitors. The MAX205E comes in a 24-pin wide DIPpackage, and also eliminates external charge-pumpcapacitors. The MAX206E/MAX207E/MAX208E come in24-pin SO, SSOP, and narrow DIP packages. TheMAX232E/MAX241E operate with four 1µF capacitors,while the MAX202E/MAX206E/MAX207E/MAX208E/MAX211E/MAX213E operate with four 0.1µF capacitors,further reducing cost and board space.
