This Wednesday Judy showed us a news report about the national conference

about English education held last Saturday in Guangdong University of Foreign

Studies and introduced some prominent experts that attending it at the beginning of

the course. It confused me a lot. To be honest, I even thought of that she was

showing off herself that she was one of the expert professions to attend that

conference.

Maybe Judy has noticed our confusion. She began to tell us her original intention.

It turned out that she wanted us to know some outstanding or leading experts and

development tendency on English education. But for what? Because we are trained

to be an English teacher. She hoped that we will be excellent English teachers or even

experts in the future. But in order to be excellent experts, it is essential for us to care

about the development of English education from now on like real researchers or

professions.

Yeah, Judy especially emphasized that it was important for us to change into

teacher educators from language teachers. It is one aims of training new teacher. But

to achieve this aim, what knowledge base is needed? Judy told us that specialized

attitude, knowledge and teaching skills are badly in need.
