Copyright 1994 -1999 Workflow Management CoalitionINTRODUCTION1.1.BackgroundThe Workflow Management Coalition is a non profit organisation with the objectives ofadvancing the opportunities for the exploitation of workflow technology through thedevelopment of common terminology and standards.
Within the WFM Coalition organisation, the Technical Committee is responsible for thedevelopment of appropriate technical specifications and related documents, which areapproved for formal issue by the WfMC Steering Committee.
To achieve this objective the Technical Committee has established a number of WorkingGroups responsible for different aspects of its standardisation programme. Technicalspecifications are developed by these individual Working Groups, working within the overallframework of the WfMC Reference Model and following agreed common architecturalprincipals.
Such specifications typically proceed through a series of stages:• White Paper (discussion document)• Internal Working Drafts• Draft specification for controlled external use (Beta version)• Full specification for general public release
1.2.PurposeThis document provides the index to the formal TC documentation set, covering documents inexistence or under production which have been allocated a formal TC document identifier.
1.3.ScopeThis document covers only the formal TC documentation. It does not cover ad hoc documentsor working papers developed internal to the working groups.
