2012年职称英语理工类B级真题及答案How to Interview PeopleInterviewing (采访) is one of those skills that you can only get better at. You will nev er again feel so ill at ease as when you try it for the first time, and you‘ll probably ne ver feel entirely comfortable trying to get from another person answers that he or she may b e too shy to reveal. But at least half of the skill is mechanical. The rest is instinct, wh ich can all be learned with experience. The basic tool for an interview are paper and two or three well-sharpened pencils. But k eep your notebook or paper out of sight until you need it. There‘s nothing less likely to r elax A person than the arrival of someone with A note-taking pad. Both sort of person you’r e dealing with, getting him or her to trust you.Never go into an interview without doing whatever homework you can. If you are interview ing A town official, know his voting record. If it‘s an actor, know what plays he has bee n in. You will not be liked if you inquire about facts that you could have learned in advanc e.Many beginning interviewers are afraid that they are forcing the other person to answer questions and have no right to inquire about his personal secrets. This fear is almost 100 p ercent unnecessary. Unless the person really hates being interviewed, he is delighted that somebody wants to interview him. Most men and women lead lives that are uninteresting, and they grasp any chance to talk to an outsider who seems eager to listen. This doesn‘t necessarily mean that it will go well. In g eneral you will be talking to p eople who have never been interviewed before, and they will get used to the process awkward ly, perhaps not giving you anything that you can use. Come back another day; it will go bet ter. You will both even begin to enjoy it–p roof that you aren’t forcing your victim to do something he doesn‘t really want to.41 The word “reveal” (paragraph 1) could best be replaced byA “ask”B “question”C “give”D “seek”42 According to the passage, during an interview notebooks or paper shouldA never be usedB be used only when necessaryC be kept at homeD be given to the interviewee43 The writer of the passage suggests that before interviewing A person, you shouldA have A good restB visit A town officialC meet an actorD make preparations44 It can be inferred from paragraph 4 that most men and womenA are afraid to meet interviewersB hate being interviewedC like being interviewedD fear to speak to outsiders45 According to the passage, if A person being interviewed is too uneasy to give you an ything useful, what should you do?A Arrange another interviewB Give him or her A bad scoreC Wait until he or she calms downD Try to make him or her trust you参考答案:C BD C A。

The Smog (烟雾)For over a month, Indonesia was in crisis. Forest fires raged out of control as the country suffered its worst drought for 50 years. Smoke from the fires mixed with sunlight and hot dr y air to form a cloud of smog. This pollution quickly spread and within days it was hanging over neighbouring countries including Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. When the smoke combined with pollution from factories and cars, it soon became poisonous(有毒的)。
Dangerous amounts of CO became trapped under the smog and pollution levels rose. Peo ple wheezed(喘息)and coughed as they left the house and their eyes watered immediately. The smog made it impossible to see across streets and whole cities disappeared as grey soot (烟灰)covered everything. In some areas, water was hosed (用胶管浇)from high-rise city buil dings to try and break up the smog. Finally, heavy rains, which came in November, put out the fires and cleared the air. But the environmental costs and health problems will remain. Many people from South-Eastern Asia n cities already suffer from breathing huge amounts of car exhaust fumes(汽车排放的废气)and factory pollution. Breathing problems could well increase and many non-sufferers may have di fficulties for the first time. Wildlife has suffered too. In lowland forests, elephants, d eer, and tigers have been driven out of their homes by smog. But smog is not just an Asian problem. In fact, the word was first used in London in 1905 t o describe the mixture of smoke and thick fog. Fog often hung over the capital. Sometimes th e smog was so thick and poisonous that people were killed by breathing problems or in accide nts. About 4,000 Londoners died within five days as a result of thick smog in 1952.1 Indonesia was in crisis because of the drought.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned2 The smog spread to neighbouring countries.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned3 The air-pollution index went up to 300 within a few days.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned4 Water was used to try to break up the smog.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned5 Many Indonesians blamed the government for the drought.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned6 The forest animals haven't been affected by the smog.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned7 The word “smog” first appeared in 1952.A RightB WrongC Not mentioned参考答案1.
