Unit 3 computers 说课稿
1. The analysis of teaching material
The topic of this unit is compuers, the reading material “ who am I” is the
highlight of this unit. It mainly talks about the history of the development
of computers. By learning this passage, students can know some
knowledge about computers. Besides, the reading material not only
contain the important words,sentence patterns, and grammer focus, but
also embodies the them of this unit, so it plays an important role in the
whole unit, if students can learn it well, it will be helpful for them to learn
the rest of the unit.
2. Teaching aims;
1) Knowledge aims:
a. Enable students to master the usage of the important words and
grammer,such as calculate, universal, simplify,
sum,technology,revolution, artificial,intelligence…..
b. Guide students to express their opinions by using the vocabulary.
2) Ability aims:
a. To develop students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and
writing, especially their reading skills.
b. To help students build up effective learning strategies and form good
learning habits.
3) Emotion aims:
a.Help studens to know the history of the development of computers and
encourage students to use computers in a correct way.
b.Stimulate and cultivate their interest and confidence in learning
English.
3. The important and difficult points
a. The key point is to help students understand the passage.
b. The difficult point is how to help students improve their ablities of
reading comprehension.

6.Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warming up ( 8 mins )
Show some pictures through computer, ask students to tell the names of
the items.
Purpose: To lead in the topic and arouse students’ interest in the topic.
Step 2 Reading
Task 1 Pre-reading ( 3 mins)
Ask students the following questions:
1.Do you know in what ways can computers be used ?
2. Who first invented computers?
3. How computers developed?
Purpose: To stimulate students’ curiosity to read the passage and
facilitate while-reading activities.
Task 2 While-reading ( 25 mins )
Skimming
Let students skim the passage and answer the following question;
1.Who am I?
2. What’s the main idea of the passage?
3. Who was the first person to invent the earliest computer?
Purpse: To help students to get the general idea of the passage.
Scaning
Read the passage and finish the timeline below.

Purpose:To consolidate what students have learned in this leasson and
