Good morning/ afternoon, everyone!
My name is Zhang Chongyang. I am twenty-five years old. I’m from Jilin. I graduated from
Northeast Normal University and I majored in Ethnic Traditional Sports.
My families like traditional culture, so when I was four years old, my mother sent me to a
painting and calligraphy class. And because I was physically weak, my father chose a class of
martial arts for me when I was a preschooler. I learned martial arts with my master Guan Naichao,
since I was twelve years old, I have been learning Chinese wrestling until now.
Learning martial arts has a great influence on my life. First, it gave me healthy body. Second,
it cultivated my strong character. In the past twenty years, I kept on exercising early every
morning, whether it was severely cold or extremely hot. When other children were still in bed, I
had already been sweaty from head to toe. Third, through practicing martial arts, I realized my
dream of going to college, which I had never thought of before, and for which my parents were
quite grateful.
I cherish my opportunity of studying in this university. During my four years of studying
here, I worked hard and practiced hard and I used to get second-class scholarship twice. I
participated in all kinds of activities actively on campus, through which I not only acquired a lot of
knowledge, but also appreciated the style of NENU and the spirit of hard work of the School of
Physical Education
I used to think of finding a job before graduation last year, but I thought it was necessary for
me to improve myself. The major I intend to apply for is physical education and training. In my
opinion, as an outstanding teacher of physical education, he should be equipped not only with
exquisite skills and noble sentiment, but also with profound theoretical knowledge. As for the
research of the major of physical education and training, it aims at the application of modern
mathematics, training theory and methods, combined with relative subjects, further revealing the
controlling rules in teaching and training of physical sports, and providing an important scientific
basis for the scientific teaching and training of physical education. Through studying this major, I
hope that I can compensate my own weaknesses and lay a good foundation for my future work
and better popularize ethnic traditional education.
Nowadays, the all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique is advocated in
our country, so I believe physical education is extremely important. Chairman Mao used to say
that the body is the capital of revolution. And the French enlightenment thinker Voltaire also
claimed that life lies in movement. It can be clearly seen that it is important to have a strong body,
while a strong body comes from physical exercises. Physical education plays an important role not
only in building up one’s body, but also in cultivating perfect character.
If I could be admitted by NENU and were lucky enough to receive professors’ education, I
would work even harder and would not fail to live up to the university’s cultivation.
