Write the names of the activities on the board and elicit sentences about themsuch as “I’m playing soccer,”“She’s dancing,”“He’s swimming,” etc. Emphasize the use of the present continuous tense to talk about what people are doing right now.Practice (20 minutes)Divide students into pairs and ask them to take turns asking and answering questions about what they and their partner are doing right now. For example:Student 1: What are you doing right now?Student 2: I’m reading a book. What about you?Student 1: I’m playing video games.After they finish, ask a few pairs to share what they learned about each other.Production (20 minutes)Ask students to choose one after-school activity they like and prepare a short presentation about it. They can use pictures, videos, props, or any other materials they want. After they finish, ask the audience to ask questions about the activity.Alternatively, you can divide students into groups and ask them to create a game related to after-school activities. For example, they can create a board game where players move around the board to different after-school activities or a card game where they have to match pictures of activities with their names.Wrap-up (5 minutes)Summarize the main points of the lesson and ask students to share one thing they learned today.
