If I Were Li Hua - My School's Calligraphy and English

Writing Contest

Hi, my name is Li Hua and I am 10 years old. I am in the 5th

grade at Sunshine Primary School in Beijing. Our school just had

a really fun competition that I want to tell you all about!

A few weeks ago, our principal Mr. Wang announced over

the loudspeaker that our school would be having a big

Calligraphy and English Writing Contest. He said students from

1st grade all the way up to 6th grade could enter if they wanted

to. The contest would have two parts - first everyone would have

to write a short English essay on a secret topic. Then, the

students who wrote the best English essays would move on to

the second round where they had to do Chinese calligraphy

writing.

If I Were Li Hua, I Want to be a Volunteer

Hi there! My name is Li Hua and I'm 10 years old. I love

playing outside, reading fun books, and spending time with my

friends and family. Today I want to tell you about something

really important to me - being a volunteer!

volunteer is someone who chooses to help others without

my friend:

Dear friends,

I know that life can be challenging and that there are times

when it feels like nothing is going right. It's easy to get lost in our

thoughts and feelings, and to start believing that we are alone in

our struggles. But I want you to know that you are not alone. You

have friends who care about you and who want to support you in

any way that we can.
