Phase One, InTech Course Exemption Option (CEO)

Dear CEO Candidate:

You are to be commended for your decision to pursue an InTech Certificate of Course

Completion through participation in the InTech Course Exemption Option (CEO). As a CEO candidate,

you have successfully demonstrated basic computer skills competency and are eligible to present an

electronic portfolio to authenticate your ability to meet the Georgia Technology Standards for Educators.

Your experiences integrating technologies into instruction and your willingness to document this process

through a standards-based portfolio is a bold step in educator accountability. Congratulations!

The InTech Course Exemption Option Rubric is provided to assist educators in preparing an

electronic portfolio for presentation to a council of peers who have completed the Phase One, InTech

Professional Development Program. The analytic rubric is designed to clearly define the criteria for

meeting each standard. Successful candidates will earn a minimum of 80 points on a 100-point scale, as

measured by accrued scores in each dimension.

CEO candidates will complete and present their electronic portfolio for peer review within one

year from the date of registration for candidacy in the Course Exemption Option. Regional Councils will

convene regularly on dates to be advertised by the Educational Technology Training Centers for review

of CEO Portfolios. The CEO candidate will complete the InTech course objectives by designing,

implementing and assessing four technology-enhanced lessons in their classrooms to meet the twenty-

three Georgia Technology Standards for Educators outlined in the CEO Rubric. The process will be

depicted through artifacts and reflections presented in the electronic portfolio for review by Regional

Councils.

All CEO candidates are encouraged to use technologies in original and innovative ways to share

technology integration accomplishments through electronic media. This performance demonstration is

an individual effort that must be completed independently by the candidate. It is unethical and

unacceptable to request or receive technical or instructional assistance in the development of the Course

Exemption Option Portfolio.

I will serve as your contact for further questions regarding the Course Exemption Option. Thank

you for your interest and participation in this exciting opportunity.

Sincerely,

Director

Educational Technology Training Center
