The Beatles

The Beatles is a legendary English rock music band which was

founded in Liverpool, in 1960 with four members. They are John

Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They

created a new musical period. They added many different

instruments to their music. It not only enriched the rock music's

connotations, but also made up the inadequacy of rock music.

Compared with the traditional rock music, the Beatles's songs

sounded more dynamic and more fashionable. So as soon as their

music appeared, they became very popular among the youth.

The Beatles created many styles of music inspiring lots of new ideas

and concepts. People divided their more than 20 classic recordings

into four periods: First,early to album,"Meet the Beatles" was

regarded as representatives; second,in 1965 the "Rubber Soul"

represented a serious experiment;Phase three is representative of

the mystery and magic "Sgt Peeper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band";

fourth is "The White Album" (1968) reveals hundreds of maturity.

They had many famous songs, such as "Yesterday ","A Hard Day's

Night", "Hey Jude" and so on.

Though the Beatles only existed for ten years, this band still

affected several generations. Their cultural influence had already

exceeded the art itself. They were the revolutionaries of music. Their rock was used to break through many old and traditional

moral values. What's more, they pursed free, happy and relaxing

attitude to music which catered for the demands of that period. So

in my opinion, it’s their exceptional musical ability and excellent

attitude towards music that made them famous. People call them

"Le God" to express their love and respect. Up to now, people still

love this great band. I still remember that in 2012 London Olympic

Games opening ceremony, all the people sang "Hey Jude" with Paul.

It deeply touched me. People won't forget them, because they not

only created excellent music,but also brought the rock music to the

ordinary beings. I love the Beatles.
