★★★过去完成时主动语态：主语+ had + 过去分词表示过去某一时间或某一动作之前已经发生或完成了的动作。

它表示动作发生的时间是“过去的过去”。

●用法A：发生在过去某时之前的动作。by/before/by the end of + 过去时间

……earlier/before (多少时间前) long before (很久以前; 老早; 早就)

1)The children had learned more than 1800 words by/by the end of last term.

2)Charles had sold all his books before last Friday.

当一动作产生(when + 一般过去时)，另一动作已完成(过去完成时)。

●no sooner…than… = hardly/scarcely/barely… when/before…: 一…就…

→Hardly had we done the housework when she woke up.

2)We had no sooner had breakfast than she came back.

→No sooner had we had breakfast than she came back.
