Part I. Status and functions:
The topic of this unit is talking about vacation plans.After learning,students are required to know how to talk about vacation plans,using be+V-ing stucture.Furthermore,it’s also important for students to develop their abilities,such as speaking and listening skills.Andafter this period,students are expected to have a further knowledge of the Present Progressive Tense for the near future as well.
Part II.Teaching aims and demands:
1).Knowledge objectives:
a) Learn some new words: babysit,camp,plan
b)Key sentences
---What are you doing this weekend?---I’m visiting my grandmother.
---What’s she doing this weekend?---She’s going camping.
---When are you going?---I’m leaving…
---Who are you going with?---I’m going with…
2)Ability objectives:
Students should develop their listening and speaking skills,and knowing how to communicate and co operate better is also very important.
3) Moral objectives:
After this period,students need to get a consciousness to help each other in their daily life. Part III:Teaching key and difficult points:
1)Key points:
After this unit,some useful words and expressions can easily be memorized by students,and another usage of Present Progressive Tense will be put into practice according to students’training as well.
2)Difficult points:
In my opinion ,how to express what they want to say using Present Progressive Tense and retell the content fluently in this period can be the most difficult.
Party IV:Teaching procedures:
Step 1.Warming up
Ss do as the teacher told.
Step 2.Leading in .
T:do you like to watch movies,now let’s watch a movie,and then answer my question:
Q1: What is the deer doing?
Q2: What is the tiger doing?
Step 3.Autonomous learning:
1.Ss read the words of P13 on Page.100.
2.Ss read the Grammar Foucus on P14 three times and put them into Chinese.
3.Close the books and fill in the blanks.
Step 4.Have a check.
1.The teacher show the anwer to the exercises,and ask Ss to say out one by one.
2.Ss stand up and recite them crazily.
3.Ss stand up and speak out the answer then sit down quickly and freely.
Step 5.Guessing game.
The teacher show some pictures that’re covered,Ss guess what the people are doing for vacation.
Step 6.Listening
1.The teacher play the tape twice,and Ss listen first and then write down the answer.
2.Ask three pairs to ask and answer.
Step 7.Reading.
Ss follow the teacher to read 2c on page 14.
Step 8.Ask and answer in pairs.
A: What are you doing for vacation, Li Chen?
B: I’m going camping.
A: That sounds nice. Who are you going with?
B: I’m goin g with my parents.
A: …
B: …
Step 9Groupwork
1. SS walk around and ask what their friends are doing for vacation.
2.Ss fill in the chart and then say them out freely.
Step 10.Talk big
1.The teacher show five points on the screen.
2.The teacher give Ss some piece of words to make the sentences.
3.Ss learn to talk big by themselves.
Step 11. Sum up.
T:In this lesson we’ve learned how to use be+doing to talk about future,and then can you tell me something about it,how can be +doing be used?
Step 12.Homework:
Ask Ss to write a vacation plan by themselves.。
