Hi, everybody, I’m * * ,from Peking, I don’t like it though, because
the dirty air, it’s hard to breath, and too many people , too much
traffic, so at the bus station, (中2单元)you always heard people ask
why is there never a bus when you want one? Good question. There
aren’t enough buses on this route. Sometimes I feel like writing a
letter to the paper. I should say that we need more subway lines;
there should be more public transportation in general. And fewer
cars, there’s too much traffic. Even though our bus’s coming, it’s
always full. And you see the buses, they’re too old, we need more
modern buses, nice air-conditioned ones. And there are too many
cars downtown, and isn’t enough parking. It’s impossible to find a
parking space downtown there days. I think they should ban private
cars downtown between nine and five. They should learn it from
Singapore. You know Singapore? Quite a number of things have
been done to help solve traffic problems in Singapore, and we will
be learning it in our classes.
But since we talk Beijing, I do love The Great Wall of China, (中11)The Great Wall of China is the longest manmade structure ever built.
It was build to protect one of the Chinese kingdoms. Much of what
exists of the wall today was built during the Ming Dynasty in the late 1400s, although parts of the wall are much older and go back to
around 200 B.C. The wall is about 35 feet high, or 11 meters, and a
stone roadway runs along the top of it. The main part of the wall
stretches for about 2,000 miles, that is, about 3,400 kilometers. And
that is also the most important reason that I learned English, I’d like
to travel all around the world, I’m really interested in The Pyramids,
the Pyramids were built more than four thousand years ago by the
Egyptians. The most famous ones are on the west bank of the river
Nile, outside of Cairo. They served as burial places for the Egyptian
kings. After a king’s death, his body was turned into what is called a
“mummy.” This preserved it. The king’s mummy was placed inside
the pyramid, together with treasures and the king’s belongings.
At first I just want to learn how to speak English very well, (高8)and then you’ll see that you learn more than just English, you also
learn how to be more confident and how to interact better with
other people.
And I’d love to prepare English shows, you can act as different rolls,
different person in different life, like a movie star. And I had always
been really shy, I was the sort of person who could go to a party and
never talk to anybody, and when you don’t talk to anybody, it’s hard
to make friends. Anyway, my classmate suggested I take English
show more, she said it might help me become more outgoing. So I did it. I was really frightened in that first acting class. But you know,
it really helped. The teacher was very kind, and taught me that I
could talk to anybody just by pretending to be someone else.
And I do love the advance class in ISHOW, it’s really expend my
horizon, I learned things about news and environmental pollutions,(高7) you know I’ve been reading a lot about the problem of
landfills – and it really has me worried. Well, it seems that the
easiest way of disposing of trash is by burying it in landfills. The
problem is that in many countries the land fills have already been
filled up, and it’s hard to find places to start new ones. No one
wants a huge landfill anywhere near their neighborhood. And there
is no easy solution. But many cities are trying to do more recycling
so that they can reduce the amount of stuff that goes into the
landfills.
And you would really enjoy the movie’s show in ISHOW. (影E02)Because that really enriched my life, I took psychology in college, we
learned all about Freud. A miserable human being. Think about it.
He grew up in the late 1800s. There were no appliances back then.
His mother had to do everything by hand, just backbreaking work
from sun up to sundown. Not to mention the countless other
sacrifices she had to make to take care of her family, and what does
he do? He grows up and becomes famous peddling a theory that the problems of most adults can be traced back to something awful
their mother has done. She must’ve felt so betrayed. He saw how
hard she worked. He saw what she did for him. Did he even ever
think to say thank you? I doubt it.
Now I want to know how long you’ve ever learned English? 5 years,
10 years? Most people learned English more than 10 years, but still
can not speak out, why? Because the method is wrong, it’s not your
fault. But in ISHOW, if you can stay two years, maybe just a year and
half, and never give up, I guarantee you guys, I promise you can
speak English very well. Now I’ll tell you how, ok?
