someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book,
whose pages are infinite”. i don’t know who wrote these words, but i’ve always
liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are
all in the position of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest.
if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
we are young. “how to spend the youth?” it is a meaningful question. to
answer it, first i have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” youth is
not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. it’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or
supple knees. it’s the matter of the will. it’s the freshness of the deep spring of life.

Good morning! It is a great pleasure to stand before you today and
address such a diverse and vibrant audience. I am Dr. Emily Liu, an
Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Sunnyvale.
Today, I want to talk about the power of language, the importance of
cultural exchange, and the role of education in shaping a more inclusive
and interconnected world.
As an English professor, I often find myself at the crossroads of
cultures, languages, and ideas. English, as the global lingua franca,
has become a bridge that connects us all. It is not just a language but
a tool for understanding, for expressing, and for uniting people from
different walks of life. In this speech, I will explore three key themes:
the power of language, the importance of cultural exchange, and the role
of education.

Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Before the speech, I would like to share a famous experiment with you.
Two big mice were put into one vessel which was filled with water. They
began to struggle when they were aware of danger. But finally their lives
just lasted 8 minutes. After that, another two joined the same experiment
but this time a springboard was given to help them get out of water. Five
days later, the two experienced big mice were put into the same experiment.
A miracle came into being. Can you guess it? Without the spring board,
they survived 24 minutes, three times as many as the first time.
Have you found the difference between the two groups? Just one thing
is that the latter has owned a kind of spiritual strength ---hope.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good evening. It is an honor to stand before you today to share my
thoughts on a topic that I believe is at the very core of what makes
America great. That topic is diversity.
As we gather here today, we are part of a nation that has been shaped by
countless cultures, traditions, and experiences. America is a melting
pot, a place where people from all corners of the globe come together to
create a tapestry of unity and strength. It is in this spirit of
diversity that I want to speak to you tonight.
First and foremost, let us acknowledge the undeniable fact that
diversity is not just a characteristic of America; it is the essence of
America. Our nation was founded on the principle that all men are
created equal, and that has been a guiding force in our journey towards
a more inclusive society. From the early settlers to the immigrants who
