Step 2 Present
1)Show the pictures of erhu or the real erhu and violin.
Teacher: What are these things called?
Students: Erhu and violin.
Teacher: Right .They are musical instruments .Many western p eople call the erhu ---- the “Chinese violin”. Does anyone in our class know how to play to the erhu or the violin?
Student A: I can play the erhu.
Student B: I can play the violin.
Tea cher: Good! Next time, would you play the erhu or the violin for us in class? Write "western", "play the erhu" and "play the violin" on the blackboard. Students should understand the meaning of the words and phrases.
2) Instruct the students to look at the picture of Li Ming playing the erhu and Wang Mei dancing (in the students books).
Teacher: Look! What is Li Ming doing? Is he playing the vio lin?
Students: No, he is playing the erhu ---the Chinese violin .He is playing music. Teacher: What is Wang Mei doing?
Students: She is dancing.
Teacher: Right! She is dancing to the music.
Write music and dance at top of the blackboard.
Step 3 Listen
Class Work: Let’s Do It! No.1
1) Play the tape for Lesson 10 and complete the exercise.
2) Check the answers as a class.
Step 4 Listen and Read
Independent Work: Let’s Do It! No.2
1) Instruct the students to read Lesson 10 silently, and answer the questions independently.
2) Students can check and correct thei r answers in groups then again as a class.
3) Instruct the students to skim over Lesson10 again and ask each other more questions about the reading in pairs.
Step 5 Task
Group Work: Let’s Do It! No.4
1) Have a brief discussion about statues. Come prepared with a list of some famous statues from aro und the world.
2) Instruct the students to follow the instructions in the book and draw a statue of thei r own. The students may draw in students' book or on separat e. Homework

Unit 2 It’s Show Time!词句精讲精练词汇精讲1. talk/say/speak/telltalk意为“说话”，当talk作此意讲时，不强调内容，普通指说的动作，其后常接介词to 和with，表示“与……说话”；接介词about时表示“议论……”。

例如：Jimmy and Bill often talk about computer games. Jimmy和Bill经常议论电脑游戏。

Mary is talking with Mr. Green in English. Mary正在用英语和Green先生交谈。

【拓展】speak、say和tell：(1) speak一词强调说话的能力、对象和方式。

用作及物动词时后接表示言语的名词作宾语；用作不及物动词时，后接介词to，表示“与……讲话”，普通用于打电话用语中或较正式的情况下。

例如：They can speak Chinese. 他们会说中文。

May I speak to Mr. Black? 请问，我能和Black先生讲话吗？(2) say用作及物动词，强调说的内容。

若指“对某人说”用say to sb.来表示。

例如：Can I say it in English? 你能用英语说它吗？(3) tell经常作及物动词，意为“讲述，告诉”，后常接双宾语，侧重把一件事情传达给别人。

常用结构是tell sb. to do sth. 意为“告诉某人做某事”，其否定方式为tell sb. not to do sth.，意为“告诉某人不要做某事”，tell sb. about sth. 意为“告诉某人关于某事”。

例如：My mother tells me to get up early. 我妈妈告诉我早点起床。

2. interest(1) interest可以作名词，意为“兴味，爱好”。

常有如下表达：take/show an interest in对……感兴味have an interest in 对……有兴味lose an interest in 对……得到兴味find (no) interest in 发觉对……（没）有兴味例如：The boy takes an interest in singing. 那个男孩对唱歌感兴味。

Together, they moved goods between Europe and Asia on the Silk Road. Later, Marco Polo travelled with his brother. They travelled on boats, horses and camels. Their journey lasted about twenty years!
