五、指示代词

指示代词有this这个(指在空间上或时间上较近的人或物)，these这些(this的复数)，that那个(指在空间上或时间上较远的人或物)，those那些( that的复数)，such这样的(人或物)，

the same同样的(人或物)。

1. this ,that , these ,those在句中的作用

（1）做主语：

This is indeed a very beautiful boy.

That is a good idea.

What are those in the sky?

（2）作宾语：

He didn’t like that.

That’s wonderful news.But who told you that.

（3）作表语：

What I want is that.

Oh,it’s not that.

（4）作定语

These picture are very beautiful。

We must get to know these tricks of theirs.

注意：①指示代词在句中做主语时指人或物都可以。做宾语时只能指物。

This is our coach.

I saw that.

②前面刚提到的东西，英语中常用由that(或those )表示。而汉语却常用‘这”表示。

I had a had cold.That why I didn't cone me.

Those are the questions we want to ask.

③汉语里“这个”或“那个”，有时却不宜译为this ,that等，而应译作“the”，特别是在

后面的名词跟有一个限制性定语时。

④that和those有时用来代表前面提到的东西，以避免重复这个名词。
