competition / contest 这两个词都有“竞赛”之意。

辨析:competition多指体育运动中的各项比赛、角逐,也指知识、技巧等方面的竞赛,结果通常比较直观,泛指为了取得某方面的胜利而进行的比赛、竞争;而contest多指在音乐、书法、演讲等方面所进行的比赛或竞争,其结果常由评判委员会
