There is a big swimming pool. I go swimming twice a week. My neighbourhood also

has a basketball court. People often play basketball and have basketball matches

there. There is a big supermarket too. It is easy for people to buy all kinds of things.

Most of the things in the supermarket are not expensive. My neighbours are very

friendly and helpful. Some of them are volunteers. They have different skills. They

help people with all kinds of problems at the weekend.

I am lucky to live in a neighbourhood like this.

My hometown is Yongcheng. It is a beautiful and modern city. There are a lot

of tall buildings here. My hometown has four big shopping malls, and you can buy all

kinds of things there. Most of the things are not expensive. The environment is

beautiful and there is green grass and all kinds of flowers everywhere. You can also

see many tall trees. There is not much air pollution here. My favourite place is

Culture Square. When I am free, I often go there to have fun with my friends. People

here are rich and happy.

My hometown is really a good place to live. I love my hometown very much.

We live in a wonderful world with a lot of amazing things. Our eyes are the same

size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing. There are no bones in the

back of elephants' feet，only fat. A black beetle（甲虫） can live for nine days without

its head. After nine days it dies because it is too hungry. A giraffe can't cough and a

pig can't look up at the sky. An elephant can stand after it dies. An ostrich’s （鸵鸟）eyes are bigger than its head. A snail can sleep for three years without any food.

（六）A poor pig

Danny is a little pig. He is unhappy because he wants to leave home to see the

world, One day, Danny went away when his parents were sleeping. On his way, he
