She could have felt jealous of the other richer girls but instead she feels grateful for whatever little things she has. Just when I thought Sara was going to have to live as a servant girl forever, the sideshow man started visiting or the neighbor discovered her true identity. I was on the edge of my seat constantly wondering what would happen next.The descriptions of Sara's rich fantasy life are also so beautifully written. I loved the part where she imagines being a princess having a humble existence and living in poverty as a testfrom the king. The other girls are like "Who is this princess?!" because Sara is just dripping in jewels and silks. But the best part is Sara isn't snobbish or stuck-up at all. In fact, she's incredibly generous and instantly starts sharing her treasures with her new classmates.The headmistress, Miss Minchin, is very polite to Sara at first because she thinks Sara's father is going to keep sending the school boatloads of money. But then a terrible thing happens - Sara's father's entire fortune is lost after he's presumed dead, leaving Sara a penniless orphan! It's one of the happiest, most rewarding endings to any book I've ever read!I love A Little Princess for so many reasons. First off, Sara Crewe is an endlessly inspiring character I wish I could be morelike.
