To write it as I wanted, however, would violate all the rules of formal composition I’d learned in school, and Mr. Fleagle would surely give it and failing grade. Never mind. Knowledge and technique can’t just be forgotten. Nor can one prevent further advances in the future. Even if all government money for research were cut off (and present government is doing its best), the force of competition would still bring about advance in technology. Moreover, one cannot stop inquiring minds from thinking about basic science, whether or not they are paid for it. The only way to prevent further developments would be a global state that suppressed anything new, and human initiative and inventiveness are such that wouldn’t succeed. The window didn’t look him in the eye. She was afraid he would read her bitterness and ,after all ,she would need him to straighten out the finances---the stock options and all that.Phil was overweight and nervous and worked too hard. If he wasn’t at the office ,he was worried about it. Phile was a Type A ,a heart-attack natural. You could have picked him out in a minute from a lineup.。
