To build a McDonald’s or not

Our class have just had a heated discussion about whether a McDonald’s to be
built in our hometown. Different students have different opinions. Here are the results:
Students who are for it think McDonald’s will offer us an opportunity to enjoy
something completely new and different. They believe having a McDonald’s around
may let people know more about a foreign culture. Besides, it means more work for
our area that needs jobs badly now.
However, students who are against it believe McDonald’s will bring us no good.
They say McDonald’s food is actually not as healthy as what is shown in their
advertisements. It is rich in fat, sugar and salt, which do great harm to our health.
Personally I prefer a McDonald’s to be built here, because I always like to try
something new and I’m sure people will know how to balance their diet.
Step 6 Homework
What’s your idea about your English class to be taught? In English only or in
both English and Chinese? Then write down the result by following what you’ve
learned this period.
