As mentioned before , education in the university is walking
on a separated path from the society. It means , what students
learn on campus is more related to theory than on practice ,
which contributes to lager unemployment among graduates.
Education system is calling for a reform now.
Revising textbooks stuffed up with heavy, ancient and
impractical theories , and adding more case analysis is an
indispensible measure. For example, when you register in a
management course ,you will find lots of inspiring cases of
successful management such as Microsoft, Apple or Amazon,
and analysis of the scientific methods of management in the
textbook.
As for the problem our university lacking of career
education, we should solve it by reforms of course
arrangements. Each term university shall provide opportunities
of internship involving relevant knowledge students learn
during this specific semester. So that students can combine
theory with practice and know about how companies operate.
It not only does good to their career, but also to academic
study. What’s more, professors can assign students to do
researches on practical operating or to imitate a real scene.
Also ,our universities are faced with critics of its
entrance-graduate politics. In China, university-entrance
examination is well-known for its cruelty, but getting a
university diploma is very easy. We can learn from the western
countries on this problem.
On one hand, we students can advise our country to fund
some universities ,so as to build equal faculty and teacher
resources for universities, thus all kinds of high school
graduates can have equal access to good further education.
We also suggest that, in the universities, passing exams
should not be so easy as in the present. One must learn a lot of
relevant knowledge in depth, and complete an academic
–valuable study to pass exams. When it comes to graduating,
students should have enough research reports, social
practices and voluntary experiences, and pass a strict
interview by professors or entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, we can improve the situation through
our efforts. We can establish a club which is aimed at urging
students to study. The members of this club shall read
academic books together and exchange ideas. In this way,
we could be urged to study. Also ,good ideas may be inspired
during the process of exchanging ideas.
What’s more , we can take advantage of “peer pressure”,
the Student Union can invite students who make great success
in competitions, in group-working, or in academy researches to
launch a speech to the rest of us. So that those who are
confused about what to do and how to make it maybe inspired
and encouraged.
