5.2 句群内的衔接与连贯
句群层次的翻译操作强调超句意识。句群范围内 的句子都是按照合理的、易于理解的逻辑关系连接成 一个整体。这些关系既包含语法关系，又有语义与逻 辑关系，如并列、承接、递进、选择、转折、因果、 假设、条件等等；它们既可以靠语序表示，也可借助 虚词表示。
译文根据英文形合的特征，不但添加连接词 “whilst”，贴切地描述诸多往事同时涌上心头的情景， 实现原文的表情功能，而且还用“now”、“then”等 词明示原文中隐含的叙事时间关系，用“and”加强整 个段落前后的连贯性。
⑵ 有一天，他忽然得了疾病，赶快叫人去请东街的 汪医生。那家人急急忙忙地跑去，一时寻不着东 街的汪大夫，却把西街牛医生王大夫请来了。差 不多先生病在床上，知道寻错了人；但病急了， 身上痛苦， 心里焦急，等不得了，心里想到： “好在王大夫同汪大夫也差不多，让他试试看 罢。”于是这位牛医王大夫走近床前，用医牛的 法子给差不多先生治病。不上一点钟，差不多先 生就一命呜呼了。
