I felt so cozy and happy wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket by our fireplace.Later, all my cousins came over for a big family dinner. My Grandma made her famous meatballs and homemade sauce. My favorite part was when all the cousins were playing hide and seek together in the house. I found the most genius hiding spot that nobody could find me in! I squeezed into a tiny spot on the top shelf of the hall closet. I had to sit super still and quiet so nobody heard my giggles when they walked by just a few feet away.After dinner, my uncle took all us cousins out on the frozen lake behind his house for ice skating. It was my first time ever ice skating and I was a little scared I would fall down a lot. But I had so much fun once I got going! We played games of tag and red rover on the slippery ice. When it started to get dark, the moon made the ice glow an amazing icy blue color.On the night before vacation ended, we had a big bonfire in our backyard and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. I got a special pink puffy marshmallow roasting stick for Christmas and got to use it for the first time. The fire crackled and the sparks popped up into the night sky. I had three huge slices of pepperoni pizza and drank a giant root beer. That night we stayed up way past my bedtime watching holiday movies and I got to have hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. The next day my dad took us all sledding at the big hill in the park near our house. I went down the slope so fast on my sled that the wind stung my eyes but it was really thrilling and exciting. I crashed into a big pile of fluffy snow at the bottom which was soft so I didn't get hurt at all.A few days later it was Christmas Eve and we decorated the tree with all the ornaments and strung up colorful lights everywhere in the living room and outside on the roof. We made gingerbread cookies in fun shapes like Christmas trees and stars and Santa Claus. I got to lick all the extra frosting off the bowl when we were done! On Christmas morning I woke up so earlyand couldn't wait to see what presents Santa brought. I got the brand new video game I really wanted along with a comfy new robe, slippers, and my very own basketball hoop to put up over the garage.After Christmas we had even more days off from school to just lounge around at home in our pajamas eating candies and treats we got. My grandparents came over a few times and brought me some money and extra presents. We went sledding again at the park on a sunny day and had a huge snowball fight, my team won! I didn't want my winter break to ever end because I had so much fun every single day without any school or homework to worry about. I can't wait for my next vacation!篇4My Winter VacationYay! The winter vacation was here! I was so excited because I love having no school and getting to stay home and play all day. My mom and dad said we were going to go on a trip to visit my grandparents in another city. I was really happy about that too because I love my grandparents and I don't get to see them very much.We had to take a very long drive to get to my grandparents' house. It took like a million hours! My little brother kept asking "Are we there yet?" over and over again. My dad would say "No, not yet buddy. We still have a ways to go." I tried to sleep in the car but it was hard because my brother wouldn't stop talking. Finally, we made it to their house and I was so relieved to be out of the car.My grandparents have a huge house with a big backyard. As soon as we got there, my brother and I ran outside to go explore. We found a cool treehouse that my grandpa had built a long time ago when my dad was little. We spent hours up there pretending we were brave explorers. My grandma made us come inside when it started getting dark out.The next day, it snowed a huge amount! There was snow piled up everywhere. My grandpa got his old sled out of the garage and we all went sledding down the big hill behind their house. I went so fast and crashed right into a snowbank at the bottom. It was awesome! I also tried to build a snowman but the snow wasn't really the right kind to stick together very well. Still, I loved playing in all that snow.We stayed at my grandparents' for one whole week. My grandpa even took us ice skating one day, although I fell down a lot because I'm not very good at it yet. I just loved every minute of being at their house for my vacation.When it was time to go home, I was really sad to leave my grandparents. I gave them both a big hug and made them promise to come visit us again soon. The drive back home didn't seem as long as the drive there because I was so exhausted from all the fun I had on my vacation.
