1 9A Unit 3 Teenage problems Welcome to the unit

Teaching aims:

1. To talk about teenage problems and the methods to solve the problems.

2. To learn to solve their personal problems

To talk about teenage problems and the methods to solve the problems.

总体设想:

本课时是第三单元第一课时,主要任务是引导学生初步了解并谈论青少年问题,使学生对本单元话题的感兴趣 。本课通过多媒体向学生展示青少年问题 ,如,家长训斥学生,噪声干扰,同学嘲笑等,通过创设一些情景,逐步引导学生谈论青少年问题,及解决办法。同时,在谈论、朗读、背诵过程中学生就掌握本课的一些重点词汇及句子,最后通过练习,检测,以达到复习巩固的效果 。

Teaching procedures:

(课前把学生分成六组,每组6人,分别委任组长、副组长、学习委员、纪律委员、记分员、生活委员,各司其职,各尽其责。课堂上小组内分工合作,小组间既竞争、又合作,从而形成一种浓厚的学习氛围。)

Step 1 Lead -in

T: Please listen to an English song :Trouble is a friend .

(After listening to the song )

T: I am busy all day and have no time to relax myself . I feel tired but happy because 2 Trouble is a friend. Do you think so ? Do you have any problems ? Today Let’s learn

Unit Three Teenage problems.(Write the topic on the blackboard)

设计目的:歌曲导入。运用英语歌曲能使学生轻松愉快进入本单元话题Teenage

problems.

Step 2 Free talk

1. Show some pictures and have the students talk about what problems they have .

For example: Picture 1

T: What happens to the boy ?

S: He gets low marks in exams and his mother is very angry with him.

. . . . . .

2. Learn the new words and phrases :

mark 、exam、 mad 、perhaps 、deal

get low marks,drive somebody mad , deal with

设计目的: 跟随Lead-in自然进入今天话题Teenage problems.的谈论。Free talk 部分通过图片谈论学生们经历过的,并且感兴趣的青少年问题,同时学习本课出现的一些新单词及词组。

Step 3 Presentation

1.Show the picture s of Amy , Daniel , Kitty , Simon, Sandy and Millie .

And have the students guess What problems they have .

2.They can talk about the pictures in group .

3.Present their answers in group and get points.

plete the sentences with the words in the box .

5.Read and the try to say the sentences without the book .

(The students who say out the correct sentences can get 1 point for his /her group)

6.Talk about how to solve their problems in group. 3 7.Present their advice in group .

设计目的:本部分首先训练看图说话,然后根据提示完成句子,熟读并能正确描述图片,最后小组讨论如何解决问题。达到掌握重点词汇及句型的目的,并初步解决本课难点。

Step 4 Listening and discussing

T : When you have some problems , who do you want to talk to ?

Your parents ? Your friends ? Your teachers ? ... ?

T: Now Millie is talking to her Mum about her problems .

Please listen to the conversation without your books

and answer the following questions:

What problems does Millie have ?

What advice does her Mum give her ?

1. Play the tape for the students and ask them to answer the above questions.

2. Let the students read and make up new conversations

to talk about their own problems in group.

3. Have them Perform their conversations in group .

(The group which can act out their conversation can get 2 points )

设计目的:本部分一方面通过听对话回答问题训练学生听力,另一方面训练学生编写对话谈论自己的问题 。达到听说读写综合训练效果。

Step 5 Comic strips

T: We have some problems . So does Eddie .

What problem do you want to know ? Now let’s see what problem Eddie have .

T: Please look at these pictures and guess what problem Eddie has .

1. Show some pictures and ask the students to talk about Eddie’ problem .

2. Play the recording and check if their answer is right . 4 3. Ask them put the pictures in a correct order .

4. Have them listen to the recording again and complete a short passage below:

Recently Eddie _1_ a problem. His _2_ looks bigger than before. He’s ____3__

fat because of ___4__ too much. Hobo advises him to eat __5___ and ____6___

more. Eddie agrees with Hobo. Then Hobo plans to help him. He will ___7__ the

food for Eddie. In fact, he doesn’t really want to help Eddie, he just wants to have

the dog food. Of course, this makes Eddie very ___8__.

5. Read and recite the dialogue with the help of the pictures

6. Have a competition .First recite in group , then recite in class .

(The student who recite well can get 1 point for their group .)

设计目的:本部分通过让学生根据图片猜Eddie问题、不看书去听来核对答案训练听力,通过朗读、背诵掌握重点句子。

Step6 Talk show

T : Now let’s have a talk show .

First ,Write out your problems on the small blackboards .

Then help other groups solve their problems .

The group which can give more suggestions will win .

1.Write their problems on the blackboards in group .

2.Show their problems to the class .

3.Talk about the methods to solve the other groups’ problems in group .

4.Give some advice to other groups .

设计目的:在前面学习了解青少年存在的一些问题基础上,本部分通过开展一个竞赛活动,激发学生运用英语就青少年问题给出一些建议。培养学生综合语言运用能力,解决本课难点如何帮助学生解决个人问题。

Step 7 Language points
