浅谈英语课堂“看图说话”的教学体会
众所周知,在我国传统的幼儿语言形成的初始阶段,口语形成的过程大多是利用看图说话的方式进行的。用直接的视觉感官让幼儿感知,包括看图识字,都离不开通过视觉让大脑直接思维的过程。鉴于此,无论哪种语言,初始学习阶段都是相同的。英语语言学习也不例外。那么,“看图说话”在课堂教学这一环节中具有哪些优点呢?
一、可培养学生直接用英语思维的习惯
在学习英语的过程中,大家都有一种切身体会,那就是始终达不到用英语直接思维的习惯,总有那么几秒的转换过程,这和我们学习语言的方式以及所处的语言环境有直接的联系。因此我们要想克服这种不利因素,就要迫使自己冲出这个圈子,找到有利于我们学习外语的制高点,有了这个制高点,就有利于我们的学习。我认为这个制高点就是课堂中的“看图说话”。比如,当我们看到一棵树时,大脑就能把它直接转换成“a tree”。如果语言复杂了可就不那么容易了,总是在脑海中先组织语言,然后再把它说出来,这种思维过程在英语课堂中常常出现,也就是我们在学习过程中出现的学习障碍,要想排除这个障碍,可利用“看图说话”来训练,能收到比较好的效果。
二、可扩大学生的词汇量,提高写作能力
为什么说“看图说话”能扩大学生的词汇量呢?初中阶段的学生往往天真活泼,想象力也很丰富,他们往往表现出想说什么,却又不知道怎样用英语给表达出来,教师一定要抓住机会,将“看图说话”作为预习内容布置下去,等到上课时准有惊喜出现。有些孩子用的词汇根本不是课本中所学词汇,只要他想用的词汇都能自己找来,并以此带动了其他同学的学习热情。从而变怕写作文到主动要求老师布置作文。人教版新目标英语课本中“看图说话”内容比比皆是,我相信只要课堂有所侧重,坚持练下去,学生无论是口语能力还是书写能力一定会有很大的提高。
三、可激发学困生的兴趣,达到让其开口的目的
学困生最怕的莫过于写,写不好的前提是没说好,因此我们就要解决他们说的问题。对这类学生不能要求太高,一节课不在乎能说多少,而在乎兴趣的培养。少年时期,往往对有图的文章感兴趣,看到其他同学都在积极地谈论,这时候就容易唤起他们想试一试的欲望。只要张口,哪怕说得再简单甚至不太对,教师也要多一些鼓励为好。这些学困生很可能因此就喜欢上了“看图说话”的内容,也能积极主动地去写“看图作文”,并且写出来的东西明显好于过去。
