Understanding and Learning
Overview
This unit centers on the topic of work-an indispensable part of individual
lives. Work may serve different purposes and have different meanings to
different people. Text A argues, by differentiating among work, labor,
and play, that interest and enjoyment in work are important for the benefit
of both individuals and society. Text B, by telling us a story of a
shoemaker and the author, stimulates thoughts on building a tradition of
working with pride, self-esteem, and responsibility. All of these
elements, as shown in both texts, cannot be achieved in a job that is done
merely for the sake of money.
Concerning the writing style, Text A is developed mainly by means of
contrasts, which are effectively used to highlight, point by point, the

英语教学中词汇听写任务的作用探析

【摘要】本文结合英语教学实践，在向学习者介绍学习策略知识的基础上，采取词汇听写任务实验法，尝试从学习者因素方面探讨
词汇听写任务对学习者英语学习产生的作用 研究结果表明：词汇听写任务对学习者英语词汇学习的态度和动因、词汇管理策略和词

一、引言
词汇在语言学习中的重要性不言而喻 在我国．学习者经 过紧张的高考进入大学后．发现大学英语词汇学习与中学相
比明显不同：（１）词汇量大大增多；（２）单词义项增多；（３）单词 词性增多：（４）词汇表除有中文解释外，还有英文解释。（５）词
汇短语明显增多 在没有语言环境的前提下．我国学习者对词
汇的学习很大程度上依靠记忆，如记住词汇的读音、拼写、字 面意思、词形变化、搭配、英汉对译等。而相当多的学习者往往
过不了词汇关．英语学习焦虑包括词汇记忆焦虑常常伴随他 们，到最后，不少学生对英语学习自暴自弃．英语不读，单词不
记，放任自由。我们在对英语词汇教学的调查中发现，学生反 映词汇学习问题较多的依次是：１）词汇记不住，记住了又很容
易忘记，不能坚持每天记词汇；２）基本上没有记词汇计划。不 会规定记词汇时间，不会计划每天、每周记多少词汇．记词汇
随意性大；３）词汇拼写错误，没有掌握读音规则，很多词汇不 会读；４）不会经常巩固、复习记过的词汇。学生针对希望教师
