It's a magical place filled with all sorts of wonderful things that make it like something out of a storybook.Just walking out the back door and into grandma's yard fills me with excitement and happiness. The first thing you notice is all the beautiful flowers planted everywhere. Grandma has tons of different kinds - roses, sunflowers, daisies, tulips, and many more that I can't even name. The flowerbed that runs along the fence is a rainbow of colors when everything is in bloom. It's so pretty and smells absolutely amazing! Grandma works really hard taking care of all her flowers. She's out there every day weeding, watering, pruning, and doing whatever else needs to be done. Her flowers are definitely the main attraction in the backyard.Right in the middle is grandma's awesome vegetable garden. The raised beds are laid out in perfect rows filled with all sorts of delicious vegetables - tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, beans, corn, you name it. Grandma says there's nothing better than vegetables fresh from the garden. I have to agree - the ones she grows are so tasty! She taught me how to properly plant the seeds and seedlings, pull weeds, water the plants, and harvest the crops when they're ripe. Helping her take care of the vegetable garden is one of my favorite things to do. It's so much fun getting my hands dirty and watching the plants grow from tiny seeds into big, vibrant plants loaded with veggies. Thegarden has a sturdy wire fence around it to protect it from any critters like rabbits or groundhogs that might want to snack on the plants. At the very back of grandma's yard is a little orchard with fruit trees - apple, pear, peach, and plum. In the spring when they're blossoming, the whole area is just covered in white and pink flowers that look like clouds surrounding the trees. It's a beautiful sight! Then in late summer and fall when the fruits are ripe, we get to go pick them right off the trees. There's nothing more delicious than fruit you pick yourself when it's perfectly ripe. I love climbing up into the branches (when grandma lets me!) to reach the highest apples and pears. Grandma makes the most scrumptious pies, cobblers, jams and other treats with the fruit from her little orchard.Tucked away in one corner is a cute little area with a bird bath, bird feeder, and some little bird houses hanging from the trees. Grandma loves watching and feeding the birds. We spend a lot of time sitting on the little bench in that corner looking through her bird books to try and identify all the different birds that stop by for a snack or a bath. My favorite is the bright red cardinals that love the bird bath. Grandma says we're lucky theystick around all year. I've even seen deer nibbling on grandma's plants a few times when we're really quiet.Another thing I really love is the little purple martin house grandma has mounted on a tall pole. Every spring I get so excited watching the purple martins swoop in and start moving into their little homes. They're really colorful and cheerful birds and I love watching them soaring and swooping and chittering away. Once a year grandma has someone come and clean out the little rooms after the martins leave for winter so they'll come back again the next year.Right smack in the middle of the yard is a good sized patio area with a picnic table, some comfy chairs, and a barbeque grill. It's shaded by a huge maple tree that has to be at least 100 years old! Its branches stretch out wide providing lots of cool shade in the summer. Grandma decorated the patio with flower boxes and wind chimes that tinkle pleasantly in the breeze. We spend a lot of time sitting out there, whether it's eating meals, playing games, or just relaxing. At night we sometimes watch the fireflies blinking in the yard while we talk and listen to the crickets and tree frogs chirping. The patio is definitely the central hangout area.Over in one corner is grandma's handy little tool shed where she keeps her shovels, rakes, lawn mower, and all her other gardening supplies. I'm not really allowed in there without her because there's dangerous stuff like chemicals and tools I could get hurt with. But she does let me help clean and put away her tools after we use them in the yard.Of course, no backyard would be complete without a swing set and play area! Grandma has a pretty big swing set with swings, a small slide, and even a little rock climbing wall. Under the swing set she has thick soft mulch that's perfect for tumbling around on without getting hurt. Sometimes we play classic games like hop scotch or four square that she drew boxes for with chalk on the patio. When I was younger she'd push me endlessly on the swings higher and higher until I thought I could touch the clouds!I really could spend all day long in grandma's amazing backyard. There's just so much to see and explore - from the vibrant flowers to the hearty vegetable plants, the singing birds, buzzing bees, fragrant smells, and countless other little discoveries waiting to be made. Grandma works so hard keeping her backyard a lush, peaceful oasis. I feel so lucky that I get to experience the magic and beauty of her cherished outdoorsanctuary. She's definitely passed along her love of nature and gardening to me. I hope that when I grow up, I can create a backyard that's even half as awesome as grandma's!篇2Grandma's BackyardI love going to my grandma's house! It's my favorite place in the whole world. Her house is a cute little yellow bungalow with white trim and a big shady oak tree out front. But the very best part is her amazing backyard. Grandma's backyard is like a secret garden full of magic and surprises around every corner.First, there's Grandma's vegetable garden. She has rows and rows of plants like tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, radishes and more. I love helping her pull up the fresh veggies from the dirt. They always taste so much better than the ones from the grocery store. Grandma says it's because they're organically grown with love and sunshine. She lets me pick the ripe tomatoes right off the vine and I gobble them up like apples, all juicy and delicious.Next to the veggie patch is the flower garden, which is an absolute rainbow explosion of colors. Grandma has daffodils, tulips, roses, sunflowers, and so many others I can't name them all. The air is sweet with floral perfumes and busy bees buzzaround pollinating the blossoms. Sometimes I'll lay in the soft grass and watch the butterflies drift from flower to flower. It's so peaceful and pretty.Behind the gardens is a small orchard of fruit trees - apple, pear, peach, plum and cherry trees. In the spring they have delicate pink and white blooms, and in the summer the branches are loaded down with ripe fresh fruit. I love to climb up and pick the cherries right off the tree, staining my hands and face red with their juices. The pears are grandma's favorites though. She makes the most amazing pear pies and tarts. In the very back corner is an area I'm not allowed in alone - Grandma's bee hives! She keeps three big white boxes painted with bright cheerful flowers. Grandma's bee hives buzz with thousands of honeybees coming and going. She puts on a special suit with a screen over her face before going near them. I have to stay back, but I can watch from a distance as Grandma tends to her little workers and collects jars of fresh golden honey from their hives. The honey is so smooth and delicious drizzled over biscuits or straight from the spoon.Beside the beehives is an old crooked shed that leans to one side. It used to be a chicken coop when Grandma was a little girl on her family's farm. Now it's her garden shed, stuffed full ofrusty old tools, gardening supplies, seed packets and lawn ornaments. I'm not allowed inside unless Grandma is with me because she says it's easy to get hurt in there. But I love looking through the cracked windows at all the interesting things gathered over the years. One of my very favorite things is the little yellow-painted wishing well in the middle of the yard. It's made of rough wooden slats and has a bucket on a chain inside that really works to pull up water. Of course, I'm not allowed to go near it alone in case I fall in. But I love tossing pennies into the well "for luck" as Grandma says, and making wishes to come true. Sometimes I'll tie a piece of yarn around my smallest finger until the wish comes true and the yarn falls off. So far I've wished for a puppy, a baby sister, and my own backyard just like Grandma's!Surrounding the backyard are old brick walls with arched gateways, weathered and covered in vines with trumpet flowers. It makes it feel like entering a secret garden. Grandma hangs all kinds of wind chimes, sun catchers and bird feeders from the overhanging tree branches. With the wind blowing through the chimes and leaves, and the birds chirping and fluttering about, it's like a natural symphony back there.Along one wall is an arbor covered in thick green vines and purple wisteria blooms that dangle down. It creates a cool shady tunnel that I can run through pretending to be exploring a magical forest. An old wooden bench sits at one end where I'll often find Grandma reading her books or newspapers with her glasses slipped down on her nose.At the other end of the backyard is a small weathered ol' building that Grandma uses as her potting and garden shed. It has shelves inside full of terra cotta pots, bags of soil and bulbs waiting to be planted. Out front is an old wooden work bench stained with dried paint and potting mix. Tarnished metal tools like trowels, pruners and watering cans hang on the walls. And in one corner sits a rusted up old metal glider bench, the paint chipped and faded. But if you move the thick latticed vines aside, you can just make out the words "Grandma's Garden" in fancy cursive letters. My grandma has put her heart and soul into cultivating that amazing backyard over the decades. To me, it's a magical wonderland that feels like stepping into a storybook. I could spend hours and hours back there watching the bees and butterflies, playing make believe games, picking flowers and fruits, and helping Grandma in her gardens. It's peaceful and wild, rustic and charming, all at the same time. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I can go out to Grandma's backyard and instantly feel better surrounded by all the natural beauty and life.I hope that one day, if I'm lucky, I can create a backyard oasis just like Grandma's. It would be my own slice of heaven on Earth - a private paradise covered in thriving gardens, fruit trees, flower beds and cobblestone paths to wander down. I'd keep mason bee houses to help the pollinator population. I'd plant fragrant roses, sunflowers taller than me, and rows of juicy vegetables. And of course I'd put up birdhouses, wind chimes, and water features for the soothing ambient sounds of nature. Just like Grandma's, it would be a getaway retreat and sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. A place to recharge, relax, play and spend time with my own future grandkids one day.For now though, I'll keep soaking up the magic and making memories in Grandma's completely unique and enchanting backyard garden. Playing amongst the blossoms, trees, bees and vines back there fills me with a profound peace, joy and connection to the cycles of nature. Being surrounded by all the vibrant colors, lovely scents and natural soundtrack is pure bliss. Grandma's amazing green-thumbed creation is a treasured sanctuary that I'll cherish forever.篇3My Grandmother's BackyardOne of my favorite places in the whole world is my grandmother's backyard. It's a magical place where I can run around, explore nature, and use my imagination. Whenever I visit Grandma, I get so excited to spend time in her amazing backyard. The first thing I love about Grandma's backyard is all the trees. There are tall oak trees that provide plenty of shade on hot summer days. Their branches stretch out wide, and I can climb up and sit among the leaves. I feel like a little bird up there in the tree tops! There are also fruit trees like an apple tree, a pear tree, and a plum tree. In the late summer, I can pick the ripe fruit right off the branches and snack on the juicy sweetness. Yum!Under some of the trees, Grandma has built a couple of treehouses. One is bigger and designed more for adults, with a small wooden deck and railings. But the other one is just my size! It's a tiny wooden house with a little window and a roof over the top. I spend hours up in my treehouse reading books, daydreaming, or spying on unsuspecting butterflies and birdsthrough the window. Grandma even hung an old bell up there that I can ring to let her know I want a snack or drink. In one corner of the backyard, Grandma has planted an incredible garden full of vegetables and flowers. The vegetable section has rows and rows of plants like tomatoes, carrots, green beans, peppers, and more. Grandma taught me how to pick the ripe veggies and pull out the whole carrot or radish from the dirt.I love eating food I've grown myself - it tastes so fresh and delicious! The flower patch is a rainbow of colors from red roses to yellow sunflowers to pink peonies. The air is sweet with their floral scents. To attract lots of birds, squirrels, and other wildlife, Grandma has hung multiple bird feeders, bird houses, and bird baths around the yard. I enjoy sitting quietly and watching all the different critters that come to eat the bird seed or take a bath. Blue jays, cardinals, sparrows, and robins are always plentiful. Sometimes a rabbit might hop over to munch on fallen seeds. If I'm really lucky, I might spot a hawk circling overhead looking for a meal.My favorite part of Grandma's backyard is the little creek that runs along the back edge. It's only about a foot or two deep, but its gently flowing water is so peaceful and relaxing. Smoothstones and pebbles line the bottom, and little fish sometimes dart through the clear water. Grandma and I like to fold our pant legs up and wade through the cool creek on hot days. We search for neat rocks, splish and splash, and just enjoy the refreshing water.Beside the creek, Grandma has built a nice wooden bridge to walk over it. It's surrounded by thick bushes and tall wildflowers that hummingbirds love to visit. We'll stand on the bridge and watch the hummingbirds hover and dart about as they sip nectar from the blooms. Their wings flap so fast they make a humming sound - that's where they get their name!At the very back of the yard, there is a sturdy wooden swing hanging from a huge oak tree branch. I can pump my legs and go soaring through the air while looking out over the entire backyard scene. The wind rushes through my hair, and I feel so free and happy. When I jump off, my feet sink into the plush grass that feels like a green carpet. At night, the backyard takes on a completely different feel. Fireflies start to blink their glowing bodies in the dusky light. Crickets and cicadas provide their nightly chorus. If we're lucky, we might see an owl swoop down from a tree branch to hunt formice. The moonlight casts long shadows from the trees, and everything seems calm and peaceful. On nights with no mosquitoes, Grandma and I will roast marshmallows over the fire pit and make delicious s'mores for dessert. The chocolate gets perfectly melty, and the graham crackers give it a nice crunch. We'll sit around the warm fire, look up at the twinkling stars and bright moon, and Grandma will tell me stories about her own childhood adventures outside. No matter what I'm doing or what time of day it is, my grandmother's backyard is an outdoor wonderland for me. It has everything a kid could want - room to run and explore, places to climb and use my imagination, beautiful scenery with plants and animals to discover, and quiet nooks to read or rest. Grandma works so hard to keep her garden looking lovely and to create a natural habitat for all sorts of little creatures.I feel so lucky that I get to experience the beauty and magic of her backyard. Not only is it fun and exciting, but it's also teaching me to appreciate the natural world around me. I've learned so much about things like tree types, gardening, bird watching, insect species, and more from spending time in Grandma's incredible backyard. It truly is my favorite place onEarth, and I have made so many joyful memories there that I'll never forget. I already can't wait for my next visit!。
