The figures reflected were obtained in accordance with prescribed uniform measuring standards (SANS 20101: 2006 / ECE R101: 2005 in their currently applicable versions) under laboratory type conditions. The measuring standards are stipulated by law. They do not apply to a specific vehicle and are provided to enable comparison between different vehicle models tested using the same uniform measuring standard. The values are accordingly not necessarily representative of real-life driving conditions. Factors such as driving style, vehicle load, road conditions, tyre size, traffic and ambient conditions may result in different fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission levels to those achieved under the test parameters referred to above. More details are contained in the owner’s manual. The award-winning TSI engine range benefits from combining innovative direct injection technology and turbocharging. This combination works to produce power far more effectively than normally aspirated engines. It’s a level of performance that will surprise you every time you take to the wheel. Precision engineered, the new generation TSI engine range offers outstanding driving enjoyment with the benefit of reduced fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions, which results in less impact on the environment. DrivingLow Speed Braking Control *Using sonar sensors located on the front and rear bumpers, and the front grille, this system detects if there is danger of a potential collision with a wall or other obstacle during normal driving or when the accelerator pedal is depressed with too much force. The system then assists in avoiding collisions and reducing damage from impact through assistive braking and/or assistive driving power suppression.1Low Speed Braking Control *If the Low Speed Braking Control activates in a situation where you do not want automatic brake application (such as when the vehicle is between two railroad crossing gates), simply press the brake pedal to deactivate the system and then continue to drive as intended.3WARNINGThe Low Speed Braking Control System cannot avoid all collisions and may not reduce damage in each situation where the accelerator is mistakenly or aggressively pressed. Overreliance on the system may result in a collision with serious injury or death. Always check your surroundings, your shift position, and your pedal use.Driver remains responsible for safely operating the vehicle.Driving■Assistive brakingAssistive braking provides a visual and audible alert when the vehicle is moving between approximately 1 and 6 mph (2 and 10 km/h) and there is the possibility of a collision with a detected wall or other obstacles, as well as providing assistance with braking. If the only rear sensors are turned off using the parking sensor system, the assistive braking is not working when reversing.2Turning off All Rear Sensors P.619■How the System Works1Low Speed Braking Control *For directions on the proper handling of the sonar sensors, please refer to the following page.2Sonar Sensors * P.600The vehicle will release the brake and start moving a few seconds after the system is activated. A vacuum power assist helps to reduce the effort needed on the brake pedal. The brake assist system increases the stopping force when you depress the brake pedal hard in anemergency situation. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) helps you retain steering control when braking very hard.2Brake Assist System P.6242Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) P.623■Foot Brake1Foot BrakeCheck the brakes after driving through deep water, or if there is a buildup of road surface water. If necessary, dry the brakes by lightly depressing the pedal several times. If you hear a continuous metallic friction sound when applying the brakes, this is caused by the brake wear indicator rubbing on the brake rotor and indicates that the brake pads need to be replaced. Have the vehicle checked by a dealer. If you hear only anoccasional squeak or squeal when you initially apply the brake pedal, this may be normal and caused by high frequency vibration of the brake pads against the rotating brake disc.Constantly using the brake pedal while going down a long hill builds up heat, which reduces the brake effectiveness. Apply engine braking by taking your foot off the accelerator pedal and downshifting to a lower gear/speed position. With manual transmission use a lower gear for greater engine braking.Do not rest your foot on the brake pedal while driving, as it will lightly apply the brakes and cause them to lose effectiveness over time and reduce pad life. The position to stick on the sensor shouldbe clean. The effect will become perfect in 48 hours.2.No cut or impalement to the sensor wire.3.Holes need to be drilled in the bumper to install the insert-in type sensors( see picture).4.Be sure the correct direction of the sensors(see picture 8).5.Camera: The side with sticker should be at the upper position. Before the installation in the holethe vertical direction of the camera should be adjusted again with power.Locate the control box in the rear boot at a place safe away from rain, heat or humidity.Lead and hide the wire in good order to avoid ugly appearance.Replace the original mirror with the display.INSTALLATION AND TEST1.After the installation of sensors, tune the direction to the correct. Arrange the wire in good order.2.Connect the red cable from control box to the positive of the reverse light, the black wire to the negative; Connect the red cable from the camera to the positive of the reverse light; Connect the green cable form the display to the positive of the reverse light; The display should be connected to ACC power; the negative pole should be connected to the earth wire.(Ref: Installation diagram).3.Connect the display with the control box. Connect the Vout on the control box with the VIDEO 2on the display.4.Put the shift lever to the reverse gear, then the reverse lamp is lighted. In this Situation, the displayshould show the image and there will be a white dot in middle of the bottom of image.Which indicate the system is under test status.Test: a. If the display does not show the rear view, please check that polarity of the power is correct, the cables are connected correctly, whether the voltage is or larger than 10.5. Check the plug on the display is well connected.b. If distance display is in disorder or show 0.0 or give sound continuously, please switch thepower off, then select the reverse gear again. If the problems could not be solved, the control unit could be deemed as a defective and replace a new one.5.It should work properly, if a person is at a distance of 1 m away form the front of the sensors. Test: a. When testing the some sensor, if the display give continuous sound or show 0.0, please check whether some parts of the car or some unwanted objects fall into the detecting range, or the hole is too small to let the sensor too tight in it, or the sensors is near to some strong interference sources (such as exhaust pipe, other wires);b. If the display show some number but there are nothing in front of the sensor, maybe the sensoris detecting the ground, please check the position and direction of the sensor. The sensors should be a little raised in horizontal. The sensors may detect the out shoot in the back, such as The license plate, the spare wheel and the bumper etc.c. If the problems could not be solved after the testings, the sensors can be deemed as defectiveor the sensors does not match with the control box. The whole system should be replaced.d. If the image is gradient or reversed, please check the camera is installed according to the label.6. For abnormal display such as strips, inclined lines, please check the matching between camera anddisplay!Note: a. The display can be interchanged, but the sensors & the control box, the sensors & the jacks are matched one by one.b. For the concern of safety, the display will only show 0.0, instead of 0.3-0.1, when detectsomething in the distance of 0.0 to 0.4m according to the software. In this situation, the driver should park the car immediately. When the distance within 0.5m, the alarm sound will keep 1 second longer.
