摘要:商务英语信函是国际贸易的重要通讯手段。它具有自身独特的语言特点、写作方法和技巧。本文通过叙述商务英语信函的写作特点,总结了商务英语信函的写作方法和技巧。

随着全球经济的发展及我国对外贸易的不断扩大,我国的经济飞速发展。同时我国与世界各国的国际商务关系也进一步发展深化,商务英语在国际经济贸易活动中的作用也日益突出。从双方之间建立业务关系到一项交易成功,这期间的大量书面磋商工作都是通过商务英语信函来实现的,是买卖双方进行磋商的重要手段和途径。因此,如何最大限度地发挥商务英语信函的重要作用成了商业活动中的重要组成部分。作为英语的一种特殊语体,商务英语信函具有其自身独特的语言特点。本文通过叙述商务英语信函的写作特点,为商务英语信函写作提供一些方法和技巧。
1、用词专业化
在国际商务活动中,从询盘、发盘、还盘到接受,都离不开商务英语信函。它关系着买卖双方之间的贸易合同是否成立。因此,它需要用专业的词汇、句子、固定短语来书写。尤其是涉及达到国际
贸易术语、国际商务组织、支付方式、信用证的催证、审证和改证以及国际货物的包装、运输、保险和索赔等的专有词汇的表达。
2、内容简明化
在进行信函写作时,应开门见山,没有必要写太多繁琐的客套话,这样可能使对方认为你阿谀奉承。选择一些虽短但意义确切的词语,可以给人留下良好的印象,并可省去对方逐字推敲词义的麻烦和时间。例如,用“though”代替“despite the fact that”,用“if”代替“in the event that”,用“expedite”代替“speed up”等。商务英语信函的篇幅应以一张纸为限,“短”为宜,一个段落最好不超过10行,使句子表达更精炼,信函表意更明确,内容更简明。
3、语言规范化
随着我国对外贸易的日益频繁,商务英语信函的语言使用已越来越规范化。但目前在一些商务资料、往来信函中仍存在许多不规范的英语在被公式般地使用,如“at an early date”、“enclosed
