如今，在全国人民团结协作始终如一的共同努力之下，新世纪的中国综合国力及国际地位大幅提升，在经济、科教、文卫等领域高歌猛进，俨然成为举足轻重的世界大国。然而，我们每一个人都深深的明白，我们的国家，其实并不是处处都像那一组组数据所显示的那样发达与先进。在我们的生活中，还有很多亟待解决的、与泱泱大国形象格格不入的问题。教育资源短缺、就业难、就医难、贫富悬殊、人口素质不高等等瑕疵，都使祖国在我们心目中的形象不甚完美。也许你有时也在悲天悯人，或是直接发泄着你的不满。可是，在你故作高深、扼腕叹息的时候，你可曾想到，我们是年轻的一代！未来的一切，都掌握在我们手中！

作为中国未来的希望，我们有信心、有义务、有责任、有能力，让未来因我们的努力而发生改变。正如那样一个显而易见的道理，水桶若想不被狂风刮倒，最直接有效的方法，就是把自己装满！

所以，未来是怎样的，终究是取决于我们自己。也许有的同学会认为，在残酷的现实之下，日后我们能否如愿以偿地考上一所理想的大学、过上快乐的生活都是未知数，甚至还有人老是抱怨上天的不公，羡慕他人优越的天分与显赫的背景，对于这些，我还是要说，未来，掌握在我们手中。接下来的两个例子，会让大家明白，健康的身体和美满的家庭，已经就是我们奋斗的资本。
