Others say that the purpose of education is to achieve personal ambitions. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.一些人认为教育的目的是做社会有用的人,也有人说教育的目的是实现个人的野心。

范文1:The purpose of education has been discussed by many and I believe it is to fulfill personal ambitions and become valuable members of society. To achieve personal growth and success is the starting point of people receivingeducation. In order to achieve this end, parents and teachers help the young to learn what is important in life, how they are expected to behave and what role they will play in their world. Only by finding out these answers can a young person be ready to live independently. However, to survive and prosper, as an individual, either at school or in society, cooperation is essential, or the importance of which can be hardly exaggerated. No one can solely rely on his or her own talents to achieve success. Therefore, understanding and learning how to cooperate with others and how to contribute to the life of one's community is highlighted in schooling today. That is the reason why schools today provide moral and ethical education which is reflected in activities such as unpaid community work. Helping students experience working and living with people from a whole variety of backgrounds is the key to get them ready for the wider society outside of campus. To conclude, living in a world where people become increasingly interdependent, people should be reminded of the fact that the achievement of personal aspirations and goals is not at the expense of one's social responsibility, and a well-balanced education will be most conductive to both individual and social progress.(304 words)范文2:For many years, people all over the world have been arguing about the purpose of education. Some contend that education is mainly meant to prepare people to become useful members for the society, while others believe that people receive education in order to realize their individual dreams. My opinion is that these two views are more compatible than conflicting.Ours is a highly complex society which, in order to function, needs people with diverse expertise, and education is certainly the best way for the society to get these people. For instance, engineering schools help train people who know how to operate machines in manufacturing factories and graduates from foreign languages universities can serve as a bridge between two nations who would otherwise be unable to communicate with each other. It is indeed impossible to imagine what our society would be like without education. For individuals, however, education is important for them to achieve their personal ambition. That is actually what people pay their education for.A man who dreams of becoming an astronaut must receive strict training in an aviation school and he who wishes to become a banker ought to be equipped with knowledge about banking by studying at a financial university. It is,therefore, reasonable to conclude that one of the primary purposes of education is to make people into what they aspire to.In my view, the social function and individual function of education are actually the same and one thing. When education has fulfilled its function of making individual’s personal dreams come true, its function of creating useful members for the society is fulfilled as well.(270words)。

2017年2月11日雅思大作文真题In modern society, ambition is more and more important. How important is ambition for being successful in life? Is ambition a positive or negative characteristic?参考范文1:In the current era, many individuals show their ambition to success, such as gaining power or earning a lot of money. In my opinion, ambition can contribute to success to some degree, but it often turns to be a negative characteristic.Ambition can assist individuals to fulfill their targets as one of the most significant motivation factors. Everyone used to have or has their life targets, but only a few of them are potent to really achieve their dreams. It is because there exist a lot of obstacles that hinder people from concentrating on their careers, such as lacking money or lacking time. Strong ambition for career progression could serve to spiritually support people to overcome difficulties they encounter. Nevertheless, admitting the significance of ambition is not assuming that it is positive to individuals in all conditions. To begin with, being ambitious in success may lead to imbalance between work and personal life. It is true that ambition can motivate individuals to work nonstop, but work is not the only content of life. When workaholics spend all of their time onwork, other aspects, such as exercise or family members, will be inevitably neglected. Even if they achieve their dreams, they may get some diseases like obesity or hypertension or feel lonely since they have no time for family activities. Thus, ambition may make people occupied by work all the time.In addition, people who are ambitious to be successful often do not care details. A lot of people, especially youngsters, intend to become leaders of organisations or enterprises. However, such positions require candidates to not only have strong ambition but also have abundant working experience. Many leaders of famous enterprises used to be salesmen who had to promote their products but not every ambitious person is willing to carry out some basic tasks at the beginning. Thus, ambitious people may lose interests in performing some seemingly trivial tasks, which in turn deprives them of the opportunity of success. To sum up, it is true that people cannot lack ambition as a motivation factor if they intend to be successful, but more often than not, ambition impacts negatively since ambitious people may ignore other aspects of life and dislike doing basic tasks.参考范文2:Around us there are many people who are ambitious and always work hard to achieve what they want, but there are also many who seem to have nothing to squeeze out of life. My observation is that people with ambition are more likely to succeed in life than those without. To be sure, ambition is like the force driving people to move on toward their goals. With certain ambition in mind, people will set about making plans, taking actions and then will persist when they encounter difficulties. My friend John is a perfect example. Ten years ago, when I first got to know him, he told me hedreamed of becoming the best photographer in this country. Then he began to travel to all places in China, no matter how dangerous and remote they are and just last month he published his first photography book which contains a lot of fantastic pictures he took. On the other hand, if one does not have ambition, s/he may simply loaf around without knowing what lies ahead. Indeed, this kind of life is perhaps not that bad, for it is carefree and less worrying, but it contributes little to one’s success in life, if success is defined as earning more money, staying at the top of the social ladder or making more contribution to the world.Seen in this light, ambition is undoubtedly something positive and healthy. But like anything else, ambition may become negative and harmful if it is not treated properly. I know many ambitious people who end up in prison because they tried to realize their ambition through illegal means, and I also know a few people who made suicidal attempts after they failed to achieve their ambition. So honestly, ambition is like both an angel and a devil. Whether ambition becomes an angel or a devil depends on how people take it.下载文档润稿写作咨询。

一篇好的范文,能让你明白什么是好作文。
20170708雅思大作文题目:范文:In my country, a century ago, it was not easy for a child to grow up due to malnutrition and diseases. But today, parents are able to not only guarantee children’s material abundance, but also provide them with qualified education. All these allow children to have more freedom enabling them to have better development.Admittedly, it seems plausible to assert that children, given the young age, are not mature enough to enjoy much freedom. Obviously, children sometimes lack necessary experience and knowledge for them to make right decision or regulate their behaviors. Without any restriction, they may fail to resist the temptation and indulge themselves with freedom. For example, they are likely to spend all their pocket money on snacks, such as candies and puffed food, which is bad for health, or they waste too much time on watching TV and playing computer games, which squeeze up their time for other more meaningful activities. However, with parents’ appropriate and effective supervision and guidance, children can benefit a lot from the freedom. It is parents’ responsibility to help c hildren cultivate self-discipline and self-control and teach them how to judge right and wrong. All these are indispensable for children to enjoy freedom. Hence, they are free to explore the outside world and govern their life. The free access to Internet enables them to gain knowledge and make friends; the free choices of study andentertainment help them become independent and responsible. In a word, with the freedom, children are able to nurture many valuable traits and habits. To sum up, it is beneficial for children today to have much freedom in life.In many parts of the world, children have more freedom than they used to. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Some people think the technology makes life complex, so we should make life simpler without using the technology. Agree or disagree?参考范文1:When it comes to the issue about the impact of technology, some people argue that it is better to promote simple life styles without technology, but I approve of the idea that our life becomes more convenient thanks to technology. To begin with, the way of communication is simpler due to technological improvements. In the past, it was inconvenient for individuals to contact others if they were far from each other and letter writing might be the only method of long distance communication. However, telecommunications in the current era allow people to communicate with anyone through telephones or internet. Thus, technologies actually facilitate communications, connecting people to each other. In addition, technology reduces labor intensity greatly. Decades ago, it was common that workers needed to do a lot of labor-intensive work repeatedly and housewives needed to spend several hours on domestic affairs. In contrast, automatic assembly line serves to liberate workers from such hard work and modern appliances could shorten the time of doing housework every day. As a result, modern life becomes simpler since individuals can avoid meaningless work and spare more time onother parts of life.Admittedly, some opponents may believe that their work has become more complex due to modern technology because they need to adopt some new systems, such as those Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, which waste extra time and are not friendly to users, especially old users. However, they are neglecting the potential benefits and convenience brought by modern technology. The fact is that enterprises could better manage their resources with the use of ERP systems, which contributes to regulating enterprises more scientifically. Besides, enterprises will also provide their employees with guideline for new systems, and many employees refuse to use new systems just because they are too lazy to change themselves, which cannot be a reasonable excuse for denying technologies. To sum up, life is not complex with technology and human beings should embrace technology, considering that technology offers humans convenient ways of communication and reduces labor intensity.参考范文2:Over the past century, science and technology has been developing unprecedentedly and changing every aspect of people's lives. In my point of view, technology brings about higher efficiency and greater convenience, even though it causes confusion and disorder under some circumstances. The benefits of modern technologies are multiple. Automation is widely used on the assembly line, setting free millions of people from the arduous and repetitive work. Thanks to the widespread use of the Internet, people have easier access to information than ever before. Instead of going to the library to consult reference books, they can acquire any information theywant via the Internet. Moreover, emails and mobile phones enable people to stay in touch more conveniently and efficiently, compared with the old days when they had to go to the post office or visit others in person.Despite the above-mentioned benefits,we cannot deny the fact that technology may lead to complexity and inconvenience in some cases. For instance, some old people find it difficult to use public facilities equipped with electronic-devices. However, this issue can be addressed with clear instructions provided. Another example is cyber fraud, which is difficult to prevent as the false information can spread very fast on the web. Those who get deceived may complain that the virtual space generates more crimes.Overall, there is no denying that some problems and troubles may occur When various new technologies are applied to people's lives. However, returning to a simple life without technology is not a solution and I believe a better future of mankind lies with the further progress of science and technology.参考范文3:The past decades have witnessed the technology boom and thus our lifestyle has been revolutionized. Despite all the benefits, technology complicates our life in many aspects. As a result, ceasing to use technology is believed to be the way to solve this problem. I,on the other hand, disagree with this statement. There is no denying the fact that technology may have led to complexity in day-to-day life for both the elderly and the young. The former,as the major groups requiring immediate medical treatment, find making appointments on line quite challenging. This leaves them less chances to see doctors and more inconvenience compared with old days when all the patients arewaiting outside the doctors' office with on one jumping the queue out of thin air. The latter also suffer from the side effect brought by technology because they have to constantly receive training and drilling to barely keep up with the frequent update of technology, like the widely-used CRM in the office. In spite of the inconvenience and complexity, it is inadvisable to simplify our life through abandoning technology. Actually, the cure lies in the technology itself. With user-friendly instruction on the website, such as videos or radios, the aged can be spared from the troubles. As for the young people,it is highly likely that the technology may develop perfectly enough and need no more updates. Additionally, the usage of technology,if once stopped, would definitely bring more complex situation. For example, people have to spend months traveling across the Atlantic Ocean, which can be accomplished with airplanes in a matter of hours. In conclusion,it is not sensible to get rid of technology for the complexity it brings. Instead,we should carry on developing to settle this problem.。
17雅思text1作文如下:Title: The Impact of Online Shopping on Consumer BehaviorOnline shopping has fundamentally altered the landscape of consumer behavior, redefining how and why we make purchases. This essay aims to explore the various ways in which online shopping has influenced consumer habits and the broader implications for businesses and society as a whole.Firstly, the convenience factor cannot be overstated. With the advent of e-commerce platforms, consumers no longer need to physically visit stores to make a purchase. Shopping can be done anytime, anywhere, and from any device with an internet connection. This has led to a significant increase in impulse buying, as the ease of making a transaction without leaving one's home removes the barriers that previously existed.Secondly, online shopping has enabled consumers to access a much wider range of products than ever before. The global marketplace is now at our fingertips, allowing us to source items from around the world with just a few clicks. This has not only diversified consumer choices but has also raised expectations regarding product availability and variety.Thirdly, price comparison has become second nature to the modern consumer. Online shopping facilitates the quick comparison of prices across multiple retailers without the need to physically visit each store. This has put pressure on businesses to maintain competitive pricing strategies and has contributed to the commoditization of many products, forcing companies to differentiate through service or unique selling points rather than price alone.Fourthly, customer reviews and feedback have gained significant importance in the decision-making process of consumers. Online shopping platforms often feature review sections where buyers can share their experiences with a product or service. This social proof has become a crucial factor in whether or not a consumer decides to make a purchase, influencing brand perception and trust.Fifthly, there has been a shift towards personalized shopping experiences. Online retailers utilize data analytics to target consumers with tailored advertising and product recommendations based on past shopping behaviors and preferences. While this can enhance the shopping experience by offering relevant options, it also raises concerns about data privacy and the potential manipulation of consumer choices.Sixthly, the environmental impact of online shopping is a growing concern. While it reduces the need for physical travel to stores, the rise in single-use packaging and the carbon footprint associated with delivery services have negative consequences for the environment. Consumers are increasingly seeking out eco-friendly options and sustainable practices from online retailers.Seventhly, the very act of shopping has evolved. Gone are the days of leisurely strolls through malls; online shopping is often a task-oriented activity. This has implications for the social aspect of shopping, which traditionally served as a form of entertainment and social interaction. To combat this, some online platforms have introduced features such as virtual try-ons or live chats with sales associates to replicate the personal interaction of in-store shopping.Lastly, online shopping has had a profound impact on brick-and-mortar retail spaces. Many traditional stores have had to adapt to survive by offering unique shopping experiences or focusing on service-oriented retail where customers can touch and feel products before making a final decision. In conclusion, online shopping has revolutionized consumer behavior, bringing about unprecedented changes in the way we shop. From increased convenience and global accessibility to the influence of customer reviews and the demand for personalized experiences, the digital shopping era has reshaped consumer expectations and market dynamics. As we continue to embrace the digital age, it is vital for both businesses and consumers to balance the benefits of online shopping with responsible practices that safeguard privacy, protect the environment, and promote sustainable economic growth.。

To what extent do you agree or disagreeWhen someone would like to show something that he believes unique to his friends, the most awkward moment is when his friends tend to show off the same thing to him. This is not really odd or coincident in modern society just simply because they have been attracted by the same advertisement respectively. This essay will prove that people and their lives are being homogenized by advertising that appears incessantly in people’s lives.Admittedly, not only does advertisement promote some certain goods, but also a lifestyle seriously impacting people’s philosophy of life is being involved widely. Desire of shopping, simultaneously, is being stimulated by watching some attractive, revulsive or even misleading advertising. Consequently, without overweighing whether some certain goods are really necessary or not, consumers begin to pursue a life with some so called necessities advertised frequently. What problems might this difference cause? How might these problems be solved?参考范文(Word Count: 269)Nowadays, fast economic development has led to the rising standard of living in a country, which then brings a lot of benefits to the country’s economy in return. However, this phenomenon seems to be more beneficial for cities but not rural areas. In the following paragraphs, problems caused by this phenomenon and solutions to these problems will be discussed.Because of the huge differences between cities and rural areas, a large amount of rural population has moved to cities to have a better life, causing cities become increasingly crowded. A further dire consequence is that the relatively less educated migrants from rural area will cluster in certain blocks in cities, bringing about some security issues or even somecrimes. Apart from this, that people move to cities also results in a lack of labour of rural areas, which then has a bad influence on the local economic development and give rise to more imbalance between these two areas. To solve the problems mentioned above, more job opportunities should be created in order to let rural people have a higher income and be able to consume so as to contribute to the local economic development. This could be done by investing more projects in the rural areas by the government, such as supporting the development of local tourism. In conclusion, the trend that cities are getting more benefits from the rising living standard in a country has enlarged gaps between urban and rural areas, followed by other related problems. In order to solve this problem, more attention is supposed to shifted to the employment and development of the rural areas.。
