上海考试院2024高考英语新增词汇全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1New Words for the Big Test! By Little MeHey there, friends! Guess what? I've got the inside scoop on some brand-new words that might show up on the massive English test next year. You know, the one that all the high schoolers take to get into college? Yep, that's the one! Now, I know what you're thinking - "But you're just a kid! How do you know about these crazy vocabulary words?" Well, let me tell you a little secret. I may be small, but I've got a huge brain full of word-nerd knowledge!Okay, okay, I'll stop beating around the bush. Let's dive right into these fresh, never-before-seen words, shall we? Get ready to stretch those brain muscles!First up, we've got "plethora." Sounds fancy, doesn't it? Well, it just means "a lot" or "too many." Like when your mom says, "We have a plethora of dirty socks lying around the house!" Yeah, that's not a good thing.Next, there's "acquiesce." Don't let those double Cs throw you off! It simply means "to agree without arguing." Like when your teacher says, "Class, it's time for math," and you just acquiesce, even though math makes your head spin. How about "eschew"? This one's a bit tricky, but it means "to avoid or stay away from something." Like when your parents tell you to eschew the candy aisle at the grocery store. Bummer, I know!Get ready for a real tongue-twister: "onomatopoeia." Phew, that's a mouthful! But it's just a fancy way of saying "words that sound like their meaning." Like "bang," "meow," or "sizzle." Fun to say, and even more fun to use in your writing!Alright, let's mix things up with a word from science: "dichotomy." It means "a division into two opposite groups." Like how everything in nature seems to be a dichotomy – night and day, hot and cold, puppies and kittens (just kidding, they're both adorable!).How about a word that's perfect for describing your favorite superhero? "Indefatigable" means "persisting and never getting tired." Like how Spider-Man is indefatigable in his fight against evil, even after a long day of web-slinging.Feeling a little "ambivalent" about these new words yet? Don't worry, that just means "having mixed feelings" – excited to learn, but also a bit overwhelmed. I get it, these words are no joke! But wait, there's more! Get ready for "juxtapose," which means "to place two things side by side for comparison." Like how your teacher might juxtapose a picture of a lion with a picture of a housecat to show the difference in size.Alright, let's cool things down with a refreshing word: "oasis." It's a place in a desert that has water and plants, like a tiny paradise in the middle of all that sand. Wouldn't it be nice to stumble upon an oasis on a scorching summer day?Last but not least, we have "serendipity." This one's all about happy accidents or unexpected pleasant surprises. Like when you're cleaning your room and find that missing toy you thought was gone forever – pure serendipity!Phew, that was quite the word adventure, wasn't it? I hope you had as much fun learning these new terms as I did sharing them with you. Who knows, maybe one day you'll be the one teaching me some crazy vocabulary words!Well, that's all for now, my little word warriors. Just remember, even if these words seem tough at first, keep practicing, and they'll become as easy as ABC (or should I say, as easy as "plethora" and "onomatopoeia"?). You've got this!篇2New Words for the Big English Test!Hi there friends! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 5th grader here in Shanghai. I love learning English and can't wait until I'm old enough to take the really big English test called the Gaokao. My teacher told our class that some new words are being added to the Gaokao English exam next year in 2024. I got so excited when I heard that news! You see, I'm kind of a word nerd. I love collecting new English vocabulary words like some kids collect stickers or baseball cards. Every time I learn a brand new word, it feels like getting a present. The more words I know, the better I can speak, write, and understand English. That's why I was super happy to hear about these fresh Gaokao words on the way.My teacher went over the list of new words with us and I frantically wrote them all down in my special vocabulary notebook. I may be a kid, but I'm already getting prepared forthat big Gaokao exam! Let me share some of those awesome upcoming words with you.One of the first new words is "sustainability." This is about being able to keep something going for a really long time without using up too many natural resources. Like if a factory finds a sustainable way to make their products, it means they can keep making them forever without causing too much damage to the environment. Sustainability is really important for protecting our planet Earth.Another fresh word for the 2024 Gaokao is "cryptocurrency." This refers to digital money like Bitcoin that people buy, sell, and trade online using computers. Cryptocurrency is really complicated, but basically it's money that isn't controlled by any government or bank. I'm too young to invest in crypto myself, but I think it's a fascinating modern idea. Here's another new word that made me do a happy dance when I learned it: "visceral." This descriptor means something that produces a deep, instinctive feeling of emotion. Like if you watch a really scary movie, the fear you feel in your gut is a visceral reaction. Or if you take a bite of your absolute favorite food, the delicious flavors create a visceral sense of pure joy andsatisfaction. Visceral feelings come from way down deep inside you.The list goes on and on with words like "demographic," "paradigm shift," "disseminate," and "cognitive bias." I'll have to study up on the exact meanings of all those bigger vocabulary words. But I'm determined to learn every single new Gaokao English term inside and out in the next couple of years. Why am I so obsessed with studying these new words so early? Well, I'll tell you. My biggest dream is to attend a top university like Fudan or Jiao Tong after I finish high school. And the only way I can get into an amazing school like that is to ace the Gaokao exam, especially the English portion. By mastering all the vocab on the test, I'll be able to understand everything and answer every question correctly. My parents always tell me that the better I am at English, the more opportunities will open up for me later in life. I'll be able to get a great job, travel around the globe, or even study abroad in an English-speaking country. Maybe I'll become a businessman importing cryptocurrencies, or a scientist researching sustainable energy solutions. Wherever my path leads, English proficiency will be my key to success. So that's why I've been devouring these new Gaokao words like a hungry beast. Words like "disruption," "intersectionality," "algorithm" and "autonomy" don't scare me one bit. Bring them on! The more vocabulary muscle I build up now, the higher I'll score on the Gaokao English section when test day rolls around. My classmates all think I'm kind of weird for being so enthusiastic about learning new vocabulary terms. But you know what? I don't even care if they call me a mega word nerd. All those fresh, juicy words are my friends, and I'm going to welcome them with open arms and blazing brainpower. Just call me Xiao Ming the Vocabulary King!I have a few years left before taking the big Gaokao exam. But thanks to this awesome new word list for 2024, I already have a head start. Every night, I diligently copy down definitions and repeatedly say each new term out loud so I can commit it to memory. Flashcards, charts, diagrams...you name it, I use it to absorb new words. Why do I work so hard and care so much about all this vocab? It's simple - I know English篇3New Big Words for the Bigshot Test!Hey guys! Danny here, your favorite 5th grade word nerd. You'll never believe what I just found out - there are some brand new vocab words being added to the Gaokao English exam next year! The Gaokao is that huge, mega-important test that all the high school kids have to take to get into a good college. I'm still a few years away from having to worry about it, but I like to stay ahead of the game when it comes to expanding my word knowledge. My teenage sister Lily is going to be taking the Gaokao in 2024, so she's been stressing out about studying for months already. I overheard her and my parents talking about the new vocabulary list that just came out from the Shanghai examination office. At first I thought it was going to be some boring adult stuff, but then I saw some of the words...and let me tell you, they are AWESOME!I immediately ran to my room, found my most trusty dictionary (you know, that giant webster's thing that weighs like 100 pounds), and looked up the definitions. Just wait until I dazzle you with my impressive grasp of these academic gems:First up, we have "serendipity." This one is my favorite just because it sounds so whimsical and fun to say. Serendipity means a happy unexpected discovery or pleasant surprise. Likewhen you reach into the depths of your backpack and find that 五元coin you thought you lost weeks ago - that's a little serendipitous moment!Next is "idiosyncratic." Now this is a mouthful, but stick with me here. It describes someone or something with very unique, eccentric or peculiar traits. Like that kid in our class who always wears mismatched socks and hums the shower song during math lessons - he's definitely idiosyncratic! The third new word is "ephemeral." This means something that only lasts for a very short time before disappearing. Hmm, kind of like the clean and organized state of my bedroom...ephemeral is right before the tidal wave of clutter and dirty socks takes over again. Here's a fun one: "serendipity" (yes, I'm using it in a sentence already!). Serendipity is when you accidentally run into an old friend at the mall who you haven't seen in ages and you get to catch up over some delicious dumplings. A happy little coincidence.Feeling smart yet? Good, because we're just getting warmed up with these new Gaokao elite vocab additions. Switching gears now to "dichotomy" - this means a division or contrast between two completely opposite things. Like night and day, that's adichotomy. Or my tidy, polite personality versus my baby brother's chaotic, screaming tornado energy. We're definitely a dichotomy!I'm saving the biggest, baddest new word for last: "ephemeral" (told you I'd use it!). This long, flowy-sounding word evokes images of something light and transitory, like a delicate soap bubble that floats through the air for just a few ephemeral moments before popping out of existence. Deep, right? Those are the highlights from the new 2024 Gaokao glossary of adverancedwords that struck me as especially fun to learn and use. Can you imagine an essay answer on the test using sentences like "The ephemeral nature of childhood fills me with serendipitous moments of joy, even amongst the idiosyncratic dichotomies of growing up"? No high school student is ready for that level of SAT word wizardry! But I'm getting a head start by mastering these words now. Who knows, maybe if I keep drilling them into my big brain today, they'll still be bouncing around in there when it's my turn to sweat over the Gaokao in a few years. A guy can dream, right? If any of you word-loving bookworms out there have caught wind of other crazy-cool new vocabulary landing on the 2024exams, be sure to slip it my way. You know I'll appetiztion the challenge of unlocking its meaning and throwing it into conversations to impress the grown-ups. Expanding your word knowledge is just good life policy!Well, that's all for my musings on the latest highbrow lingo heading to a test near you. At least when my big sis starts freaking out about her looming college entrance exams, I can play it cool and show her that even elementary kids like me are already breezing through the verbal heavyweights. Serendipity, idiosyncrasy, and ephemerality - here I come!篇4New Words for the Gaokao English Test? No Biggie!Hi there, friends! It's me, your pal Xiao Ming, here to tell you about some exciting news. Well, maybe not that exciting, but still pretty cool! You know how us students have to take the Gaokao every year to get into our dream universities? Yep, that big, scary test that makes our parents and teachers go all crazy. Anyway, the Shanghai Examination Authority has decided to add some new words to the English section of the test this year. Whoa, right? Now, I know what you're thinking: "Aw man, more words to memorize? This is gonna be a total bummer!" But fear not, my fellow word warriors! I've got the inside scoop on these new additions, and trust me, they're nothing to sweat over.First up, we've got "cryptocurrency." Sounds fancy, doesn't it? But it's really just a fancy way of saying "digital money." You know, like when you buy those cool skins for your favorite video games using your parents' credit card (shhh, don't tell them I said that!). It's basically money that exists only on the internet, and you can use it to buy stuff online or trade with your friends. Pretty neat, huh?Next on the list is "metaverse." This one's a bit tricky, but bear with me. Imagine a world where you can hang out with your friends, play games, and do all sorts of cool stuff without ever leaving your room. That's the metaverse! It's like a giant virtual reality playground where you can be whoever (or whatever) you want to be. Just don't forget to take your snacks with you, 'cause you might get hungry exploring all those digital realms.Speaking of virtual reality, "NFT" is another new word you'll need to know. It stands for "Non-Fungible Token," which is a fancy way of saying "unique digital item." Remember those rare Pokemon cards you used to trade with your buddies? Well, NFTsare like that, but for digital art, music, videos, or even tweets! Yep, you read that right – people are actually buying and selling tweets as NFTs. Wild, isn't it?But wait, there's more! "Carbon footprint" is another term you might see on the test. It's all about how much greenhouse gas we release into the air from our daily activities, like driving cars or leaving the lights on too long. The bigger your carbon footprint, the more you're contributing to climate change and making the Earth all hot and sweaty. Not cool, right? We've gotta learn how to reduce our carbon footprints and be moreeco-friendly!Last but not least, we've got "gig economy." This one's pretty straightforward – it's all about people taking on temporary jobs or side gigs instead of having a regular, full-time job. You know, like when your neighbor's kid mows your lawn for a few bucks, or when your mom sells her homemade cookies at the local market. It's a way for people to make some extra cash doing things they're good at or enjoy. So there you have it, folks – the new words you'll need to know for the 2024 Gaokao English test. Sure, they might sound a bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of them, they're really not that bad. Just remember to study hard, havefun with it, and don't let those fancy words intimidate you. After all, we're word warriors, and we've got this!Alright, that's enough from me for now. I've gotta go practice my virtual reality gaming skills in the metaverse. Catch you later, word warriors!篇5New English Words for the Big Test Next Year!Hi everyone! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a 5th grader at Riverside Elementary School in Shanghai. I've been studying really hard for the big exam called the Gaokao that all us students have to take after high school. It's still a few years away for me, but I like to stay ahead! My teacher Ms. Wang told our class that there are going to be some new English vocabulary words added to the Gaokao English section for the year 2024. At first I was a little nervous, because learning new words can be hard. But then I got excited to learn some fun new English words and meanings! The first new word is "cryptocurrency". I had never heard of this one before. Ms. Wang explained it's a kind of digital money that people use online instead of regular cash. You can't holdcryptocurrency coins in your hand though. It's all just codes and computers! Pretty crazy if you ask me.Next up is "metaverse". This sounds like something from a sci-fi movie! The metaverse is a whole virtual reality world that people with special headsets can explore and do all kinds of activities in. Ms. Wang showed us some videos of the metaverse and it looked so realistic and trippy. Maybe I'll get to go there for real someday! The third new word is "nomadic". This one refers to people or animals that move around a lot to different places instead of staying in one home all the time. My friend Lulu's grandparents used to be nomads when they were younger, traveling all around rural China with a cart pulled by a donkey before they settled down. I think being nomadic could be fun sometimes!"Indigenuous" is the next new word. It describes cultures, people, plants or animals that are native and have originated naturally in a particular area over a long period of time. For example, the giant pandas are indigenous animals to certain mountain regions in China. I did a whole report on pandas last year so at least I know that one! Here's a tricky one - "heterogenous". This long word means something that is diverse and made up of many differentelements. Ms. Wang gave the example that the students in our class come from a heterogenous mix of family backgrounds and neighbourhoods around Shanghai. I'll need to practice spelling that one for sure! The next couple new words are kind of weird - "parabolic" and "asymptotic". Don't worry, I had no clue what these meant at first either! Parabolic describes things that are curved in a specific mathematical way, like the bent satellite TV dish on my apartment building. And asymptotic means when two lines or values get infinitely closer and closer over time, but never actually meet or intersect. My mind was spinning trying to visualize that one.Another crazy new word is "reforestation". This is the practice of planting lots of new trees in areas where forests have been cut down or destroyed before. Reforestation helps restore environments for animals and plants, improves air quality, and reduces climate change effects. Ms. Wang said we may get a field trip next year to a reforestation project site which would be awesome!Phew, that's a lot of new vocabulary to take in! I'm glad I still have a couple years before I need to know all these words for the big Gaokao test. But I'll do my best to master them. Mom andDad are so proud of me for working hard on my English. Maybe I can teach them some of the new words too!I can't wait to see what other new English words get added for the 2024 Gaokao. Learning a whole new language is difficult but so rewarding. If I keep studying and practicing, I know my English skills are going to be top-notch when test day rolls around. Wish me luck!Your friend,Xiaoming篇6New Words for the Big Test!Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm in 5th grade. I just found out there are going to be some new words on the huge English test that high school seniors have to take next year. The test is called the Gaokao and it's really important for getting into a good university in China. My older sister Mei is going to take the Gaokao in 2024 when she finishes high school. She's been studying like crazy to get ready. I overheard her telling my parents about the new vocabulary words that were just announced for the English partof the test. I got really curious, so I asked her to explain what some of the new words mean. Getting a head start can't hurt, right?Mei said one of the new words is "resilient." She told me it describes someone who is able to recover quickly from problems or difficulties. Like if I fell off my bike but got right back up and kept riding, that would make me resilient. That's a great word to know!Another weird new word is "autonomous." Mei said it means able to operate or function independently, without being controlled by anyone else. She gave an example of autonomous vehicles that can drive themselves without a human driver. Robots that can work autonomously sound so futuristic and cool! Here's a crazy long word they added: "multidisciplinary." Try saying that three times fast! It means combining or involving multiple fields of study or areas of expertise. Like scientists from different disciplines like biology and chemistry working together. That's definitely a mouthful but useful to know, I guess.Mei mentioned "marginalized" as another new vocabulary word. She explained it refers to people who are treated as unimportant or powerless because of their race, gender, incomelevel, or other factors. Learning about groups that have been marginalized throughout history is really important. One more fun new word is "serendipity." Doesn't it sound lovely? Mei said it means discovering something fortunate or pleasant by chance, without looking for it. Like if you were cleaning your room and serendipitously found some money you had lost under your bed! What a serendipitous surprise that would be.There were a bunch more new Gaokao words, but those were the ones that stuck out most to me from Mei's explanation. "Resilient," "autonomous," "multidisciplinary," "marginalized," and "serendipity." I'll definitely be using those fancy new words as much as I can to get ahead of the game!Mei has a big challenge ahead with the Gaokao next year. All that vocabulary, plus reading, writing, listening, you name it. I don't envy having to know that many new English words for a huge important test. I'll just be over here playing video games and learning words like "resilient" at my own pace for now. No 高考stress for this kid!I hope Mei does awesome on the English part of the Gaokao though. Maybe I'll make her a good luck card using some ofthose new multisyllabic words I learned. A little "serendipity" wouldn't hurt either. 上海英语词汇简析配套高考词汇检测Title: A Voyage Through Shanghai's Linguistic Landscape: An Exploration of English Vocabulary in the Context of College Entrance ExaminationIntroductionShanghai, a bustling metropolis at the forefront of China's economic and cultural development, is a melting pot of diverse languages and dialects. Among these, English holds a significant place, being an essential language for international communication and a key subject in China's national college entrance examination, commonly known as the Gaokao. This exploration delves into the intricacies of English vocabulary that students in Shanghai encounter and master in preparation for this pivotal exam. The Significance of English in GaokaoEnglish occupies a prominent position within the Gaokao, reflecting the country's increasing globalization and the importance of fluency in English for future academic pursuits and career opportunities. The exam assesses students' grasp of vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Mastery of vocabulary is fundamental as it forms the building blocks of language, enabling students to understand and express complex ideas.Core Vocabulary for GaokaoThe Gaokao English test is designed to evaluate students' proficiency in using English vocabulary accurately and appropriately. The core vocabulary list comprises high-frequency words that are essential for everyday communication and academic discourse. These include terms from various domains such as science, technology, culture, and society. For instance, understanding terms like "sustainability" (可持续性) and "innovation" (创新) is crucial for discussions related to environmental studies or business developments.Strategies for Vocabulary AcquisitionTo excel in the vocabulary section of the Gaokao, students in Shanghai employ various strategies. These include memorizing word lists, engaging in extensive reading to encounter new words in context, using flashcards, and participating in English-speaking environments. Consistent practice and review sessions are vital to ensure that the learned vocabulary is retained effectively.Role of Idioms and Phrasal VerbsApart from individual words, idioms and phrasal verbs play a significant role in English language proficiency. Idioms, such as "break the ice" (to initiate a conversation) or "hit the books" (to study hard), pose challenges due to their non-literal meanings. Similarly, phrasal verbs like "pick up" (to learn or understand) or "look into" (toinvestigate) are used frequently in English and require thorough comprehension for accurate usage.Cultural Influences on VocabularyThe English language, when studied in a non-nativesetting like Shanghai, brings along the challenge of understanding cultural nuances embedded within the vocabulary. Words and expressions that are deeply rooted in Westernculture may not have direct equivalents in Chinese, making them harder to grasp for students. Examples include idioms derived from sports like "a ball game" (an unpredictable situation) or historical references such as "Watergate" (a political scandal).Advanced Vocabulary for DistinctionFor students aiming to achieve distinction in the Gaokao, mastering advanced vocabulary is essential. These words are often more specialized and pertain to specific fields or contexts. Grasping the nuances of synonyms and antonyms alsodemonstrates a higher level of language proficiency. For instance, understanding the difference between "elusive" (difficult to find) and "evasive" (avoiding directlyanswering questions) is crucial for precision in language use.The Role of Context in Understanding VocabularyUnderstanding the context in which words are used iscritical for vocabulary acquisition. Contextual clues assistin determining the meaning of unknown words and in using them appropriately. Reading extensively, especially literature, newspapers, and academic articles, provides a wealth of contexts for students to encounter and learn new vocabulary.Practice Makes Perfect: Enhancing Vocabulary through PracticeConsistent practice is the cornerstone of enhancing vocabulary skills. Students are encouraged to engage inregular writing exercises, where they can apply newly learned words in sentences and paragraphs. This practice not onlyreinforces memory but also helps in understanding how to use words correctly within varied sentence structures. The Intersection of Technology and Vocabulary LearningIn the digital age, technology plays a pivotal role in aiding vocabulary learning. Online platforms offerinteractive tools such as vocabulary builders, online dictionaries, and language learning apps that facilitate the learning process. These resources provide instant access to word definitions, pronunciations, and usage examples, contributing to a more dynamic learning experience.ConclusionIn conclusion, the journey through Shanghai's English vocabulary landscape for the Gaokao is a multifaceted endeavor. It requires dedication, strategic learning, and an appreciation for the intricacies of language. By delving into the core and advanced vocabulary, understanding idioms and cultural nuances, and leveraging technology, students inShanghai arm themselves with the linguistic prowess necessary to excel in their college entrance examination and beyond. The mastery of English vocabulary is not just a means to an end; it is a gateway to a world of possibilities, opening doors to global dialogue and intellectual growth.。
