I. Analysis of the teaching material

This is the second period of this module, which focus on reading, talking about a

trip you made to a tourist spot. The topic is familiar to students, which will definitely

raise the students’ interests and attentions. Through the reading, students can learn

how to describe their own travelling experience, get to know the means of

transportation, the advantages of travelling and so on. The passage is a little easy in

structure and understanding. Therefore, I try to guide the students to have a thorough

analysis of the material and the structure, help students to infer the author’s feelings

from the used words, and to guide the students to read the text deeply and find the

deep meanings.

After the reading,the major aim of this period is to ask students to use the words

and expressions related to tourism to describe their own experience.

II . Analysis of the students

The students I will teach are these of Senior Grade 1 from Nan Chong Senior

High School and their English is not as excellent as other classes. Although they are

familiar with the topic, it is the first time for them to have a deep understanding of the

passage. Maybe they have some trouble in understanding in the deep meanings.

The teaching methods that I will adopt include task-based methods, individual

and cooperative methods through the whole teaching process so that I can offer them

more chances to show their abilities in the class.

III. Teaching Goals

❖ Learn about the structure of the type of writing of narration .

❖ Learn to describe an event, e.g. a trip, a bus ride, a train ride, an air flight, etc..

❖ Learn the -ed form used as adjective.

❖ Learn how to speak and write based on the topic of travelling.
