She is tall. She often wears abrown coat, black trousers and black shoes. Sheis 37years old, but she looks young.My mother works in a hospital and she is anurse .She is very busy . Every morning, She getsup early. Then she goes to work on foot. Herwoke begins at 7:30. Everyone says he is a kind-hearted man. He often helps his neighbours and some strangers whom he doesn’t know at all. He has really done a lot for others. I don’t like him to do so because I think it has taken him too much time. When I discourage him, he always says with a smile,The world needs warm hearts. My fatherloves his family, and loves his work evenbetter. In the company, he is calledworkaholic He spends most of his timeworking, and often forgets to have meals orto go to bed. As a result, he doesn’t enjoygood health. My father likes reading in his spare time. He told me reading was very interesting. I became interested in reading little by little. I like books, because they help me in many ways. My father has a bad habit he likes smoking very much. I hate it. See, the house is full of smoke. I know its bad for his health as well as mothers and mine. I advise him to give up smoking. I’m sure he will follow my advice some day. Such is my father. I amproud of having such a good father.Lesson 4 If I Am a TeacherAfter ten years, I am a teacher in England .I love working for children. My work is very comfortable and happy.Our school is beautiful. It’s in a big forest. Around school there are many strong trees. There is a big garden under the trees with many different kinds of flowers in it.My students come from different countries, but very friendly to each other. I don’t like treating them seriously in class. We are good friends. I teach them Chinese, and often tell them Chinese is one of the most beautiful languages in the world. I’m very glad that they are interested in it and study hard at it.I teach them to sing Chinese songs, make dumplings and other Chinese food. During the vacation, I guide them to visit the Great Wall; the Summer Palace and so on .I will try my best to introduce my country.This is my dream. I hope it can become truth in the future.Lesson 5 Five Hundred TimesIn the traffic court of a large mid-western city, a young lady was brought before the judge to answer a ticket given her for driving through a red light. She explained to his honor that she was a school teacher and requested an immediate disposal of her case in order that she might hasten on to herclasses. A wild gleam came into the judge'seye. Sit down at that table and write Iwent through a red light five hundredtimes."Lesson 6 Our SchoolOur school is new. It was built in 2005. When you come into the school, you’ll see a pink building .Our dining-room is the building . To the south of it is our teaching building . There are more than 36 classrooms in it .To the north lies an office building with to the south a large glass entrance. And to the north is our lab building .It is modern and well-equipped. In this building there are lecture halls, meeting rooms, reading rooms, libraries, language labs, chemistry labs and physics labs. These buildings are built around our playground .There are a lot of trees around the playground .What a nice campus!Lesson 7 A ClassroomThis is a classroom. It is a big room. You can see a big desk in front of the classroom, it’s the teachers’desk. Excepting this, there are 40 desks and 40 chairs. You can also see a blackboard on the wall. You can see aboy and two girls, too Twobooks are on the teachers’desk.A pencil-box is on thedesk .Two pens and eraser inthe pencil-box A bag isbehind a chair, two cats are on the blackboard. The boy is Jim. He is twelve. The girl in the hat is Lily.She is twelve ,too. The other girl is Sue. She is eleven. They both look the same. They are in Class2,Grade 6.They are good friends. Their teacher is Mr .Green. He is not there.I love my classroomLesson 8 My bedroomI have a lovely bedroom. There isa bed in my bedroom. There is adesk near my bed. There is a pinkdoll on my bed. I sleep with itevery night. There is a bigwindow in my bedroom. The yellow lamp is on my desk . Every evening, I do my homework under the lamp. I have a big shelf in my bedroom.There are many books on the shelf. I like reading very much.Do you like reading? You can borrow the books from me ifyou like?My bedroom is so nice. I like it.Lesson 9Talking clockWhile proudly showing off his new apartment to friends, a college student led the way into the den. "Okay, then I'll do it," answered the little red hen. She planted the grain of wheat and soon the wheat began to grow.The sun shone on it, the rain fell, and the wheat grew tall and strong. "No, I will not." answered the little red hen. And she ate up the whole loaf of bread.Lesson 11The sick lionA lion had come to the end of his days. He lay helpless under a tree.The animals came around him. When they saw that he was going to die, they thought to themselves, "Now is the time topay himback."So theboar cameup andrushed at him with his tusks.led the lion. Then a bull gored him with his horns. The lion still lay helpless before them.So the ass felt quite safe. He turned his tail to the lion and kicked up his heels into his face."This is a double death." Grow.Lesson 12The goose with the golden eggs One morning a countryman went to his goose’s nest, and saw a yellow and glittering egg there.He took the egg home. To his delight, he found that it was an egg of pure gold.Every morning the same thing occurred, and he soon became rich by selling his eggs.The countryman became more and more greedy. He wantedto get all the gold at once, so he killedthe goose, when he looked inside, hefound nothing in its body.Lesson13 The hare and the tortoiseThe hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. "I have never been beaten," he said, "when I run at full speed, no one is faster than me." near the finish line, and that he had lost the race. The tortoisesaid quietly, "I will racewith you." "That is agood joke," said the hare."I could dance aroundyou the whole way."The race started.The hare dartedalmost out of sight atonce. He soonstopped and lay down to have a nap. The tortoise plodded on and on. When the hare awoke from his nap, he saw the tortoise was near the finish line , and that he had lost the race.Lesson14 Buying fruitOne Sunday morning , my mother and I are in a fruit shop .I like fruit very much , so I want to buy some fruit . There are a lot of fruits in the shop . Look , the watermelons are green and big , are yellow and nice , the apples are red and sweet . I like pears very much , so my mother buysthree kilos of pears for me . And myfather likes bananas , so my mother buys two kilos of bananas for him .We are very happy .。
