ScopeThis manual lists and authorizes spares and repair parts; special tools; special test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE); and other special support equipment required for performance of organizational, direct support, and general support maintenance of the Logic Analyzer. It authorizes the requisitioning, issue, and disposition of spares, repair parts and special tools indicated by the source, maintenance and recoverability (SMR) codes.2. GeneralThis Repair Parts and Special Tools List is divided into the following sections:a.Section II. Repair Part List. A list of spares and repair parts authorized by this RPSTL for use in the performance of maintenance. The list also includes parts which must be removed for replacement of the authorized parts. Parts lists are composed of functional groups in ascending numeric sequence, with e parts in each group listed in ascending item number sequence. Figure numbers are listed directly beneath the group header.b.Section III. Special Tools List. Not applicable.c.Section IV. National Stock Number and Part Number Index. A list, in National item identification number (NIIN) sequence, of all National stock numbered items appearing in the listing, followed by a list in alphanumeric sequence of all part numbers appearing In the listings. National stock numbers and part numbers are cross-referenced to each illustration figure and item number appearance.3. Explanation of Columns (Section II and III)a.Item No. (Column (1)). Indicates the number used to identify items called out in the illustration.b.SMR Code (Column (2)). The maintenance codes are entered in the third and fourth positions of the SMR code as follows:(a)The maintenance code entered in the third position tells you the lowest maintenance category authorized to remove, replace, and use an item. The maintenance code entered in the third position will indicate authorization to one of the following categories of maintenance.Code Application/ExplanationC - Crew or operator maintenance done within organizational or aviation maintenance.O - Organizational o aviation unit category can remove, replace, and use the item.F - Direct support or aviation intermediate category can remove, replace, and use the item.H - General support category can remove, replace, and use the item.L - Specialized repair activity can remove, replace, and use the item.D - Depot category can remove, replace, and use the item.(b)The maintenance code entered in the fourth position tells whether or not the item is to be repaired and identifies the lowest maintenance category with the capability to do complete repair (i.e., perform all authorized repair functions). This position will contain one of the following maintenance codes.NOTESome limited repair may be done on the item at a lower category of maintenance, ifauthorized by the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) and SMR codes.Code Application/ExplanationO - Organizational or aviation unit is the lowest category that can do complete repair of the item.F - Direct support or aviation intermediate is the lowest category that can do complete repair of the item.H - General support is the lowest category that can do complete repair of the item.L - Specialized repair activity (designate the specialized repair activity) is the lowest category that can do complete repair of the item.D - Depot is the lowest category that can do complete repair of the item.Z - Nonreparable. No repair is authorized.B - No repair is authorized. (No parts or special tools are authorized for the maintenance of a "B" coded item). However, the item may be reconditioned by adjusting, lubricating, etc., at the user category.(3)Recoverability code. Recoverability codes are assigned to items to indicate the disposition action on unserviceable items. The recoverability code is entered n the fifth position of the SMR Code as follows:Recoverability codes Application/ExplanationZ - Nonreparable item. When unserviceable, condemn and dispose of the item at the category of maintenance shown in the third position of SMR Code.O - Reparable item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose of the item at organizational or aviation unit category.F - Reparable item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose of the item at direct support or aviationintermediate category.H - Reparable item. When uneconomically reparable, condemn and dispose of the item at general support category.D - Reparable item. When beyond lower category repair capability, return to depot. Condemnation and disposal of itemnot authorized below depot category.L - Reparable item. Condemnation and disposal not authorized below specialized repair activity (SRA).A - Item requires special handling or condemnation procedure because of specific reasons (e.g., precious metal content, highdollar value, critical material, or hazardous material). Refer to appropriate manuals/directives for specific instructions.c.FSCM (Column (3)). The Federal Supply Code for Manufacturer (FSCM) is a 5-digit numeric code which is used to identify the manufacturer, distributor, or Government agency, etc., that supplies the item.d.Pan Number (Column (4)). Indicates the primary number used by the manufacturer individual, company, firm, corporation, or Government activity), which controls the design and characteristic of the item by means of its engineering drawings, specifications, standards, and inspection requirements to identify an item or range of items.NOTEWhen you use a NSN to requisition an item, the item you receive may have adifferent part number from the part ordered.e.Description and Usable on Code (UOC (Column (5)). This column includes the following information.(1)The Federal item name and, when required, a minimum description to identify the item.(2)The statement "END OF FIGURE" appears just below the last item description in Column (5) for a given figure in both section II and section III.f.Qty (Column (6)). Indicates the quantity of the item used in the breakout shown on the illustration figure, which is prepared for a functional group, subfunctional group, or an assembly. A "V" appearing in this column in lieu of a quantity indicates that the quantity is variable and the quantity may vary from application to application.4. Explanation of Columns (Section IV)a.National Stock Number (NSN) Index.(1)Stock number column. This column lists the NSN by National item identification number (NIIN) sequence. The NIIN consists of the last nine digits of the NSN. When using this column to locate an item, ignore the first four digits of the NSN. When requisitioning items use the complete NSN (13 digits).(2)Fig. column. This column lists the number of the figure where the item is identified/located. The illustrations are in numerical sequence in sections II and III.(3)Item column. The item number identifies the item associated with the figure listed in the adjacent Fig. column.This item is also identified by the NSN listed on the same line.b.Part Number Index. Part numbers in this index are listed by part number in ascending alphanumeric sequence.(1)FSCM column. This column list the Federal supply code for manufacturer (FSCM).(2)Part number column. This column indicates the part number assigned to the item.(3)Stock number column. This column lists the National stock number for the associated part number and manufacturer identified in the part number and FSCM columns to the left.(4)Fig. column. This column lists the number of the figure where the item is identified located in sections II and III.(5)Item column. The item number is that number assigned to the item as it appears the figure referenced in the adjacent figure number column.5. Special Informationa.Short Form Repair Parts and Special Tools List (RPSTL). This Repair Parts and Special Tools List is a short form RPSTL AU repair parts will be listed in the next revision.b.Associated Publications. National stock numbers (NSN's) that are missing from P source coded items have been applied for and will be added to this TM by future change/revision when they are entered in the Army Master Data File (AMDF). How to Locate Repair Partsa.When National stock number or part number is not known.(1)First. Using the table of contents, determine the assembly group or subassembly group to w hich the item belongs. This is necessary since figures are prepared for assembly groups and subassembly groups, and listings are divided into the same groups.(2)Second. Find the figure covering the assembly group or subassembly group to which the item belongs.(3)Third. Identify the item on the figure and note the item number.(4)Fourth. Refer to the Repair Parts Lit for the figure to find the part number for the Item number noted on the figure.(5)Fifth. Refer to the Part Number Index to find the NSN, if assigned.b.When National stock number or part number is known.(1)First. Using the index of National stock numbers and part numbers, find the pertinent National stock number or part number. The NSN index is in National item identification number (NIIN) sequence (para 4a(1)). The part numbers In the part number index are listed in ascending alphanumeric sequence (para 4b). Both indexes cross-reference you to the illustration figure and item number of the item you are looking for.(2)Second. DC Output Driver Module Cat. No. 1771-OC Installation Data This document provides information on:important pre–installation considerations power supply requirements initial handling procedures installing the module using the indicators for troubleshooting module specifications The 1771–OC module can control the following output devices:dc motor starters indicators solenoids Your module receives its power through the 1771 I/O chassis backplanefrom the chassis power supply. The module requires 165mA from theoutput of this supply. Add this to the requirements of all other modules inthe I/O chassis to prevent overloading the chassis backplane and/orbackplane power supply.To The InstallerPre-installation Considerations Power Requirements2The dc output driver module is shipped in a static–shielded bag to guard against electrostatic discharge damage. Observe the following precautions when handling the module.Electrostatic Discharge Damage ATTENTION: Under some conditions, electrostatic discharge can degrade performance or damage the module. Observe the following precautions to guard against electrostatic damage.Wear an approved wrist strap grounding device, or touch a grounded object to discharge yourself before handling the module.Do not touch the backplane connector or connector pins.If you configure or replace internal components, do not touch other circuit components inside the module. If available, use a static–free work station.When not in use, keep the module in a static–shielded bag.In this section we tell you how to key your I/O chassis, install your moduleand make your wiring connections.Keying Your I/O ChassisUse the plastic keying bands, shipped with each I/O chassis, to key the I/Oslots to accept only this type of module.The module circuit board is slotted in two places on the rear edge. Theposition of the keying bands on the backplane connector must correspondto these slots to allow insertion of the module. You can key any connectorin an I/O chassis to receive this module except for the left–most connectorreserved for adapter or processor modules. Place keying bands between the following numbers labeled on the backplane connector:Between 4 and 6Between 20 and 22You can change the position of these keys if system redesign and rewiringmakes insertion of a different module necessary.Initial HandlingInstalling Your Module3Installing the Output Driver ModuleTo install the dc output driver module in your 1771 I/O chassis, follow thesteps listed below.ATTENTION: Remove power from the 1771 I/O chassisbackplane and wiring arm before removing or installing an I/O module.Failure to remove power from the backplane or wiring armcould cause module damage, degradation of performance, or injury.Failure to remove power from the backplane could causeinjury or equipment damage due to possible unexpectedoperation.1.Turn off power to the I/O chassis.2.Position the module so that the circuit board on the rear of the module lines up with the top and bottom card guides in the chassis.3.Do not force the module into its backplane connector. Apply firm,even pressure on the module to seat it properly.4.Snap the chassis latch over the top of the module to secure its position.5.Connect the wiring arm to the module.6.Make wiring connections to the field wiring arm as indicated inFigures 1 and 2.4Connections to the output driver module are made to the 10 terminal field wiring arm (cat. no. 1771–WA) shipped with the module. Attach the wiringarm to the pivot bar on the bottom of the I/O chassis. The wiring armpivots upward and connects with the module so you can install or removethe module without disconnecting the wires.Figure 1You must supply dc voltage to terminal A on the field wiring arm. Supplydc common to output devices and terminal B on the field wiring arm.ATTENTION: Proper polarity, as indicated in the connectiondiagram (figure 1) must be observed with DC powerconnections. No. 1771-OC)DC (48V) Input Module (Cat. No. 1771-IC)6The front panel of your module contains 9 red status LED indicators (Figure 3). The top LED is the fuse blown indicator. It illuminates when a fuse has blown in the module. The remaining 8 red status indicators correspond to each of the 8 inputs. Fuses are accessed by removing the frontcomponent–side cover on the module.If a blown fuse is indicated:1.Turn off system power.ATTENTION: Remove system power before removing orinstalling your module in the 1771 I/O chassis. No. 1771ĆP10Installation Data This document provides information on:pre-installation information input voltage requirements connecting input power paralleling power supplies indicator lights troubleshooting specifications This power supply module can be used in both series A and B 1771 I/O chassis, subject to the conditions listed below.Series A 1771 I/O chassis – You are restricted to the following:Series B I/O 1771 I/O chassis – You may place this module in any slotof a series B I/O chassis, except the left-most slot which is reserved forthe processor.Important: Do not parallel a 1771-P10 power supply and an ac poweredprocessor. We recommend that you use the same voltage source to powertwo paralleled units.1772-LSP, -LWP and -LXP processors contain an integral ac inputpower supply. You cannot use a 1771-P10 power supply with theseprocessors.To The InstallerPreĆinstallation Considerations21772-LS, -LW and -LX processors do not contain an integral powersupply. You can use up to two 1771-P10 power supply with theseprocessors. Refer to Remote I/O Adapter Module publication 1771Ć2.17.The 1771-P10 power supply is designed to operate in parallel only withanother 1771-P10 power supply.With two 1771-P10 power supplies in parallel, the total availablebackplane current for I/O modules is 16A.To parallel power supply modules, use the power supply paralleling cable,cat. no. 1771-CT.ATTENTION: Power supply modules have a controlled“soft-start” feature to enhance power supply reliability. Duringpower-up or power-down periods, outputs of certain discretemodules may momentarily change operating state. Thesemodules are:Isolated AC (120V) Output Module, cat. no. 1771-ODseries A or BIsolated AC (220V) Output Module, cat. no. 1771-ORseries AContact Output Module cat. no. 1771-OY series A or BContact Output Module cat. no. 1771-OZ series A or BDC (5V) Multiplexer Input Module cat no. 1771-ISLater series of these modules do not change state duringpower-up or power-down.Failure to observe this warning may damage equipment and/orinjure personnel.3The 1771-P10 power supply module requires 125V dc power from anexternal power source. Turn off power to the I/O chassis beforeinserting this module into the chassis.Failure to remove power from the backplane could causemodule damage, degradation of performance, or injury.Failure to remove power from the backplane could causeinjury or equipment damage due to possible unexpectedoperation.Connecting Input Power41.Turn off power to the I/O chassis2.Turn the power supply module power switch OFF.3.Place the printed circuit board on the rear of the module into theplastic tracks on the top and bottom of the I/O chassis which guide the module into the chassis.4.Do not force the module into the backplane connectors. Apply firm,even pressure on the module to seat it properly.5.Snap the chassis latch over the top of the module to secure itsposition.6.Make power connections as described in “Making Input PowerConnections” below.Making Input Power ConnectionsRefer to Figure 2. To parallel 2modules, proceed as follows:1.Make certain that both 1771-P10 power supply module power switches are off.2.Connect the power supply paralleling cable (cat. no. 1771-CT) fromthe P/S Parallel port on the first 1771-P10 module to the P/S Parallelport on the second module. No. 1771ĆCT125V dc12230-IParalleling Power Supplies63.Turn on both power supplies simultaneously.ATTENTION: To avoid driving the first of two paralleledpower supplies into an overcurrent condition that wouldshutdown the module, you must simultaneously turn on bothpower supplies.The power supply module has a green indicator light, labeled P/SACTIVE, that indicates the operating condition of the module, and can beused for diagnosing faults.The module monitors itself for:overvoltage undervoltageovercurrentAny of these conditions will shut down the power supply.Module Indicators7Follow the procedure below to isolate and correct possible faults.1.Turn the power supply off and wait 45 seconds.2.Turn the power supply on.3.If the system operates properly, you are finished with troubleshooting.4.If the indicator does not turn on, turn the power supply off and wait 45 seconds.5.Remove the paralleling cable (if equipped) to verify independentoperation of the power supply.ATTENTION: Remove input power to the I/O chassis beforeremoving the power supply module from the chassis. Failure todo this may result in injury to personnel and/or damage toequipment.6.Pull the power supplies halfway out of the chassis to test them under no load conditions.7.Turn on one power supply.8.If you have two power supplies in your chassis, repeat step 7 for the other power supply.9.If you have only one power supply in your chassis and it passed step7 (the P/S ACTIVE light turned on), verify that the power supply isnot overloaded by performing steps 10 through 12.10.Turn the power supply off for at least 45 seconds.11.Firmly seat the power supply in the chassis.Troubleshooting812.Restore power to the I/O chassis, and turn the power supplymodule on.Checking for Open or Shorted Paralleling CableImportant: Continue with this procedure only if you are using two powersupply modules in the same chassis. This procedure checks for an open orshorted 1771-CT paralleling cable.Before you begin the next 2 steps, turn I/O chassis power off. Both powersupply modules should be turned off and partially pulled out of the chassis.ATTENTION: Remove input power to the I/O chassis beforeremoving the power supply module from the chassis. Failure todo this may result in injury to personnel and/or damage toequipment.1.Test the 1771-CT paralleling cable by verifying the groundconnection between power supplies.2.Test for a short circuit by performing steps 3 through 5.3.Plug one end of the paralleling cable into one of the power supplymodules (the other end should not be connected).4.Turn the power supply on. If the P/S ACTIVE indicator turns on thisend of the cable is okay.5.Unplug the cable, and plug the other end of the cable into thepower supply.6.Perform steps 7 through 9 to test for an open circuit in theparalleling cable.7.Turn both power supply modules off. Connect the paralleling cable toeach supply.8.Turn one power supply module on. The P/S ACTIVE indicators onboth supplies should not turn on.9.Turn the first power supply off and the other power supply moduleon. The P/S ACTIVE indicators on both supplies should not turn on.If either of the P/S ACTIVE indicators turn on, the paralleling cable has an open circuit. Replace the cable.10.To test for a paralleling fault, turn both power supply modules off andwait 45 seconds.11.Verify that the paralleling cable is properly connected, and then turnboth power supplies on simultaneously. The P/S ACTIVE indicators on both supplies should turn on.12.If the P/S ACTIVE indicators on both supplies do not turn on, replaceboth supplies, one at a time, with known good power supplies inorder to isolate the faulty power supply module.13.If all tests have passed up to this point, turn both power supplymodules off simultaneously and wait 45 seconds. Check forbackplane loading by performing steps 26 and 27.14.Firmly seat the power supplies in the chassis.15.Restore power to the I/O chassis, and turn both power supplymodules on simultaneously.16.Check for proper dual power supply module operation. If backplaneloading is within acceptable limits and the P/S ACTIVE indicators do not turn on, replace both power supply modules, one at a time, withknown good power supply modules in order to isolate the faultymodule.
