类似的表达还有:①How are you getting on/along?进展得怎么样?②How's everything?过得怎么样?可根据不同情况来回答。
如:Pretty good!相当不错!/Great!很好!/Not bad!还不错!/Just so so.马马虎虎。
/Terrible!太糟糕了!2.Can I take a message for him?要我给他捎个话吗?(课本第38页)Could you just tell him to call me back?你能否叫他给我回个电话?(课本第38页)(1)以上两句话的情态动词can和could相当于汉语中的“可以”或“能不能”,表达请求。
could在语气上比can更加委婉、客气。
(2)message意为“音信;信息”,是可数名词。
take a message for sb.意为“为某人捎个口信”。
与message 相关的短语有:leave a message for sb.(留个口信给某人), give a message to sb.(给某人捎个口信)。
(3)tell意为“告诉”,与say相比,tell更注重交流的过程。
tell的常用短语有:tell sb.sth.=tell sth.to sb.(告诉某人某事), tell sb.(not) to do sth.[告诉某人(不要)做某事]。
