Unit5 Reading 优教学案(二)

学习目标

1.To get a basic knowledge about first aid for burns.

2.To improve reading ability by reading the title and subtitles, guessing and

predicting the main idea and to output knowledge in a proper way.

3.To know first aid for burns and be able to treat different types of burns and

apply the knowledge to everyday life.

学习过程

Step 1:Lead-in

Nowadays there are a lot of accidents in our daily life. Look at the pictures on

Page 33 of our textbook. What have happened to the people in the pictures? What

would you do in such situations?

Questions to think about:

1.What has happened to the little girl?

2.What kind of first aid would you give to her?

Step 2:Fast reading

1.Look at the title of the reading passage and predict: what will the passage talk

about?

2.What is the main idea of Paragraph one?

3.Read the subtitles of the text. What are mentioned about burns in the passage?

Step 3:Careful reading

Task 1:Fill in the blanks(based on the 1st paragraph).

Task 2:Read “Causes of burns”“Types of burns”“Characteristics of burns” and

answer the following questions:

(1)List three things you should avoid to get away from burns.

(2)According to the text, how can one person get first degree burns besides mild

sunburn?(No more than 12 words)

(3)Explain the sentence in English: First degree burns turn white when pressed.

(4)Which one of the three degree burns is the most painful? Why doesn’t a

third degree burn hurt?(No more than 6 words for the second question)

Task 3:Read “First Aid Treatment” and answer the following questions.

(1)Why should we remove clothes and jewellery near burns?(No more than 15

words)

(2)Why cant you put oil or ointment on burns?(No more than 12 words)

(3)Summary of first aid treatment:

doctor(Student C).The doctor should judge which degree of burns Student A has and

offer first aid treatment to student A.
