Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming up & Revision

1. Greet the class.

2. Listen and do.

T gives the orders, and the whole class responds by doing the

actions. Go to the living room. Watch TV ….

3. Play the Sharp eyes game to review the words of this unit. Then

ask the Ss to spell the words out.

4. Ask and say.

Present some pictures of rooms and review the sentence Is it/

Are they in/on/under/near the …? Yes, they are. No, they aren’t.

Where is/ are the…? It’s/They’re in/on/under/near the ….

5. Translate the sentences into Chinese.

Step 2 Presentation & Practice

1. Read and match.

A. Show the picture of Wu Yifan’s living room to the Ss. Ask some

2 of the Ss to talk about What’s in the living room? Guide the Ss to

say with the sentences It has a ... in the living room.

B. Open the books to P43. Ask the Ss to read the passage in pairs

and answer some questions.

Where are my books? They are….

Where is my bag? It’s ….

C. Listen to the tape and match. Then check the answers.

D. Read the passage again and find Where my keys are.

E. Watch the video and follow it to read.

2. Look, choose and write. Ask the Ss to choose and write down the

correct words according to the pictures on P43. Then check some

individuals. Praise the best one.

Step 3 Consolidation & Extension

1. Help the Ss try to describe their rooms with the key sentences of

Unit 4.

2. Pair work to discuss their rooms.

3. Ask the Ss to write about the room by the key words phone, sofa,

table, chair, fridge and bed. Write like this The …is in the ….

The …are in the….

4. Show and check the answers.

Step 4 Summary & Homework

1. Check the difficulties (Spelling the words).

2. Do homework.
