Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. First,I’ll introduce myself briefly. My name is Qu Zhiwei. I’m from Shengli Ding Ziqiu Primary School. The content of my lesson is Part B of Unit 2 of PEP primary English, book 8. I’ll be ready to begin this lesson from six parts. Analysis of the teaching material, the teaching objects, the teaching methods, the studying methods, the teaching procedure, and blackboard design. First, let me talk about the teaching material.Part 1 Teaching Material:When talking about the teaching material, first I want to analyze the status and function of this lesson. It is the second part of this unit and plays an important part in the English teaching. By studying of this lesson, Ss can improve their ability of listening and speaking, Of course, the Ss should receive some moral education. According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), after studying the teaching material and analyzing the rule of ch ildren’s growing of mind,I think the teaching objects are the followings:Part 2 Teaching objects:①The first one is language knowledge.By studying of this lesson, students will be able to read, recognize, and use these words: tired, angry, excited, happy, sad ,bored.And, these sentences:How does Amy feel? She’s tired.②The second one is language skills.By the end of this lesson, Ss are able to talk about the emotion ,use the sentences:“How does she feel? / She’s tired.”and do substitutions properly. Furthermore, s s’ abilities of listening and speaking will be developed.③The third one is emotion goal.Help students cultivate and foster their abilities of working in groups.Now, let’s come to the important points and the difficult points.The most important point of this lesson is to make sure that Ss can use these words and sentences correctly and skillfully and to develop Ss’ interest in English. While the difficult point is also to make sure that Ss can use these words and sentences.Well, how to achieve the teaching objects better, how to stress the important points and break through the difficult points? As is known to us all, the modern teaching demands the teacher should improve the students’ ability. A good teaching method requires that the teacher should have the leading effects. According to the analysis of the teaching material and the students’ learning background, I will use the following methods.Part 3 Teaching Methods:In this lesson, I will mainly use “Task-based teaching method”, “Communicative language teaching method” (沟通式教学法)and “TPR teaching method”(Total Physical Response,指全身反应教学法), and so on.Part 4 Studying Methods:As for the learning methods, my students are active, curious and interested in new things but they are poor in cooperative learning skills. T herefore, I’ll have Ss study in a relaxed atmosphere. After learning English for years, they have some basic English background knowledge, so the teacher should attach importance to the communication with them, providing them the chances of using language.Part 5 teaching procedure:Next, let’s focus on the teaching procedures.I will finish the lesson in steps.Step 1. Greeting and Warming-upIt will cost about 5 mins.After greeting with the Ss, I will begin this lesson by listening to the song “If you are happy” together with the Ss.While listening, the Ss do the action with me. The purpose of this is to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss, and, at the same time, it provides situations to review the learnt knowledge.Then, I’ll say to the Ss with a smiling face: “I’m happy when I’m singing. Are you happy today?”After the Ss response me“Yes”, I’ll say“You are happy. I am happy, too. Look at my face. This is a happy face. ”and I’ll draw a happy face on the blackboard. Then the Ss will be able to know the meaning of “happy”.Step 2. PresentationIt will cost about 20 mins.Firstly, I’ll draw a sad face on the blackboard. Then ask the Ss “Is it a happy face? ”.I will take full advantage of my facial expressions and body language to help students understand the meaning of “sad”. And I will teach other new words in a similar way.Secondly, with the help of the PPT, show Ss the content of let’s learn. Ask the Ss to look at the pictures and read the new words after the recordings. The teacher himself will describe every picture or asks the Ss to describe like this: “Amy is tired”“Zhang Peng feels excited”and so on.Then let the Ss guess the meaning of the word according to facial expression of the picture. In the process of guessing words, the teacher will ask the Ss like this “Is she tired ? ”“Does he feel excited?”“How does she feel? ”in order to review and consolidate what they have learned.Furthermore , I have designed a game: "You ask, I answer." I’ll distribute the stick figures prepared in advance to each group. The student who gets stick figure must answer the questions from others, such as“How do you feel? ”“Are you ... ? ”“Do you feel ... ? ”.I’ll encourage all students to participate the game. In the meantime, I’ll help the students who have difficulty in expressing themselves. Then ask some students to do “ask and answer”practice in order to check the effect.Step 3. PracticeNow, let’s move to the step 3:practice. This step will cost about 10 mins.The purpose of this is to present the new words and sentences in the situation, which relates to the Ss’ real life experiences, to help the Ss understand the language easily and naturally. In this part, I’ll let the Ss talk about their own photos or pictures, describe the expressions of the people in the pictures and try to guess the reason. Of course, I’ll give some examples to help them. In this step, I will give Ss a free space to show their abilities. Making a new dialogue is to check if Ss can use the new words and sentences correctly and skillfully.As for pair work, I’ll give students half a minute to remember the characters and corresponding expressions, then ask and answer with the sentences: “how does…feel? She/He is …”. There’s a competition among students.Step 4. ConsolidationIt will cost about 5 mins.In this step, the Ss read after the recordings firstly, then I’ll guide the Ss to spell and write words.Step 5. HomeworkCopy the new words and sentences.Part 6 blackboard design:That’s all for my teaching design. Thank you a lot for listening.。
