This same control mode has been available on the PowerFlex755 since revision 3.Open Loop Interior Permanent Magnet Motor Control ModeThis revision of drive firmware includes a new motor control mode for InteriorPermanent Magnet (IPM) motors that does not require the use of a motorposition feedback device.DeviceLogix Revision 5This revision of drive firmware includes enhancements that allow theimplementation of Revision 5 of DeviceLogix. These enhancements include: userdefined tags, new ladder instructions (MOV and RESET), multiple Booleanoutputs and inputs enhancements for certain instructions, function blockdiagram I/O selection improvement, library execution performanceimprovement, and improved process order assignment algorithm.User Defined TagsUser defined tags are available for both function block and ladder logic.Customers are able to configure the name, data type and initialization value.MOV and RESET Ladder InstructionsThis enhancement adds the new Revision 5 MOV and RESET instructions tothe DeviceLogix instruction set for ladder logic. The MOV instruction is anexplicit instruction in the ladder diagram and background in function blockdiagram.Multiple Boolean Outputs and Inputs for Selected InstructionsThis enhancement adds the new Revision 5 Alarm, PID and Timing Diagnosticinstructions. These new instructions have Boolean outputs that can be used byother instructions in the set.Function Block Diagram I/O Selection ImprovementThis enhancement is a usability improvement. It replaces the older method ofassigning I/O points with the RSLogix 5000 style of selecting I/O points.Rockwell Automation Publication 750-RN022A-EN-P - April 201215PowerFlex 753 Drives (revision 6.002)Library Execution Performance ImprovementThis enhancement is a performance and bandwidth improvement. Theinstructions in the Revision 5 instruction set will have improved execution times.Improved Process Order Assignment AlgorithmThis enhancement is a usability improvement. The order in which theinstructions are executed follows the RSLogix 5000 function block process.Processor OptimizationThis revision of firmware includes improvements to optimize the processorutilization for faster background and system task execution.Corrected Anomalies This section describes the anomalies corrected in this revision.Display of FPGA RevisionThis revision of firmware includes enhancements to display the FPGA revisioninformation.P78 [Anl Out0 DataHi] Default for 24V I/O Option with Two RelayOutputsThe default value for parameter 78 [Anlg Out0 DataHi] for the 24V I/O optioncard with two relay outputs (20-750-2262C-2R) was incorrect.Sweep Flying Start for Permanent Magnet MotorsFault code 196 “PM FS Cflt” is a new type two alarm. The enhanced mode offlying start does not work with permanent magnet motors, this alarm preventsthat configuration.False Detection of OvercurrentBecause of the incorrect setting of a gain parameter, the drive would falsely detectan overload condition if the motor nameplate power was higher than 400 Hp.16Rockwell Automation Publication 750-RN022A-EN-P - April 2012PowerFlex 753 Drives (revision 6.002) Known Anomalies This section describes the known anomalies that are present in this revision.Feedback SelectionThe HIM startup on the PowerFlex 753 drive includes a feedback deviceselection step. Depending on the option modules installed, that step may first askthe user to choose a port, then a parameter. In some situations, the list of portsincorrectly shows multiple copies of “Port 0 - PowerFlex 753” followed by thefeedback port/module.The incorrect behavior happens only under the following conditions:•It is the first time that startup feedback selection has been run sinceflashing the drive.•The feedback module is a dual encoder and no other option modules areinstalled.• A reset to defaults of the drive NVS parameters has not been performedsince the drive was last flashed. When the incorrect port list appears, it is still possible to successfully select thefeedback module port by following one of these methods.•Scroll past the multiple copies of Port 0 to reach the desired feedbackmodule.•Press the Esc soft key to back up one screen, then select “Feedback” andpress the Enter soft key to display the port selection screen a second time. This time the correct list will be shown.Diagnostic Item and Parameter Values Affected by Flash fromVersion1 to Version6The following internal diagnostic items may contain incorrect data afterupgrading a PowerFlex 753 from revision 1 to revision 6 firmware: 2 [PBLTPwrup Time], 3 [PBLT GatesOn Time], 4 [PBLT Mtr MW Hrs], 5 [PBLT RgnMW Hrs] and 67 [PwrBd Pwr Cycles].The following parameters may contain incorrect data after upgrading aPowerFlex 753 from revision 1 to revision 6 firmware: 13 [Elapsed MWH], 14[Elapsed kWH], 15 [Elapsed Run Time], 16 [Elpsd Mtr MWHrs], 17 [ElpsdRgn MWHrs], 18 [Elpsd Mtr kWHrs], 19 [Elpsd Rgn kWHrs], 490 [HSFanElpsdLife], 497 [InFan ElpsdLife], 503 [MtrBrngElpsdLife], 508[MtrLubeElpsdHrs], 512 [MchBrngElpsdLife] and 517 [MchLubeElpsdHrs].These values will affect the associated calculated “remaining life” parametervalues and predictive maintenance events.Rockwell Automation Publication 750-RN022A-EN-P - April 201217Publication 750-RN022A-EN-P – April 2012Copyright © 2012 Rockwell Automation, Inc.
