1. 第一段是“承上启下”的过渡句，通过上文对马云的介绍引出一个问题：“中国还能上演一个可与他比拟的故事吗”，并作出“答案是几乎肯定不能”的大胆推测；紧接着第二段开始陈述作出这一推测的原因。
2. 原文在提到“问题来了”的时候，作者用到的一个句型是one question presents itself；我们首先在这里提一下present的用法，它的词性有三种：①我们最初学习这个词的用法是作名词，表示“礼物”，等同于gift，也可表示“现在”，“目前”有一个短语就是at present；②present的第二个词性是形容词，表示“现在的；出席的”，present economic difficulties意思是“目前的经济困难”。
再比如说“班长没有出席班会”就可以说The monitor was not present at the class meeting；③present的第三个词性是动词，这个用法也是我们在这句话里要着重讨论的用法，它作动词的含义比较丰富，如“提出；呈现；带来；介绍；展示”。
结合这句话中的语境，present itself的意思是“（机会、问题）呈现出来”，也就是说：If an opportunity or problem presents itself, it occurs, often when you do not expect it；one question presents itself. 就是我们从中提取的一个短语，表示“问题来了/问题出现了”。
比如：我们经常会为了一个方案讨论来，讨论去，最后总会有一个折中的方案，这个时候我们也可以利用这个短语这样说：On the issue, a simple compromise presents itself.在这个问题上，出现了一个简单易行的折中方案。
再如：现在公司合并是常事，《经济学人》在提到公司合并风险的时候这样说：Another risk is one that often presents itself in merger: a clash of cultures.企业合并时往往还会出现一个问题：文化冲突。

3. produce a story：上演一个故事；produce的本意是“生产；创作；引起”，翻译时要结合语境，文体风格可以稍微生动有趣些；4. match his后面省略了story，也就是把“中国上演”的another story和马云的story作比较；match表示“匹配；相比；竞争”.如果后面加人物时可以表示“与……平起平坐；比肩；与……相提并论”；5. almost certainly not：几乎就不可能；certainly not是“肯定不”的意思，前面加了almost表示“几乎”，语气稍有缓和；美国《大西洋月刊》在今年8月提到一篇饮酒相关的报道时，题目用的是A Daily Drink Is Almost Certainly Not Going to Hurt You，意思是“每天喝一小杯，对你的身体几乎不可能造成伤害”；6. 第二段在陈述原因时用到一句话：There are some very good reasons for that，这里的that 就是指代上一段提到的“几乎无人能与之比拟”的推测；这个句型虽然比较简单，但是如果我们把它用在平时的英语写作中，会让我们的作文看起来更条理，更能凸显逻辑关系。
