BSCI does not issue anycertificates.2.WhAt doeS the BSCI AudItInClude?The BSCI audit includes:management practice;discrimination, harassment andabuse; documentation; workingconditions; hours; health and socialfacilities; compensation; occupational health and safety; child labour /young ; dormitories; forced labour/ disciplinary measures / prisonlabour; environment; and freedom ofassociation and collective bargaining.3.WhAt Are the proCedureS ForApplyIng the BSCI AudIt?The factory / supplier can obtain theDBID, which is created by the BSCImember or the auditing company,then log onto the BSCI IT platform/ toinitiate the audit application andmake sure the member holds theRSP. Then it is necessary to select anauditing company, fill in the requiredfiles and settle payment. The auditing company will update the scheduleon the platform and the audit willbe conducted as scheduled uponconfirmation. Once the audit hasbeen conducted, the report will becompleted online by the auditingcompany. Meanwhile, the auditingcompany will provide a user name tothe factory / supplier to enable themto check the report after the audit.4.WhAt IS the rSp? hoW IS ItoBtAIned?RSP stands for Responsibility, andit is the audit right of a factory. Onlyone BSCI member can hold theRSP of the factory. A BSCI memberwho would like to initiate an auditmust hold the RSP of the factory;otherwise, an audit cannot bearranged. If the member wants toobtain the RSP from the current RSPholder, they can communicate withthe current RSP holder through theBSCI platform. They can, likewise,ask the BSCI.5.Who WIll hAve to pArtICIpAte Inthe AudIt?BSCI requires an HR representative/ administrator, treasurer, executivefor health and safety, executivefor the environment, managementrepresentative etc. from the factoryto attend the on-site audit.6.WhAt typeS oF doCumentS Areneeded?At least 12 months’ worth of personalrecords, contracts, attendancerecords, payroll records, health andsafety and environment managementrecords etc. are required for the initialaudit.7.WhAt IS the on-SIte AudItproCeSS?The auditor will start off with anopening meeting, introducing theaudit content and process to thefactory management group (referto 5), followed by a managementinterview, document interview(refer to 6), on-site audit and workerinterview in respect of the relevantrequirements. Then the auditor willpropose improvement suggestions(CAP – Corrective Action Plan)according to the on-site findingsduring a comprehensive evaluationprocess. Finally, the auditors will havea closed meeting with the factorymanagement group to confirmthe findings for improvement. Amanagement representative mustsign the on-site finding summaryreport.8. hoW do I underStAnd thereSultS oF the report?The BSCI report provides validationfor three years starting from theinitial audit date. The BSCI reportincludes three parts: Part A is thefactory’s basic information, Part B isthe compulsory audit, and Part C iscompulsory audit only when factorygets a “Good” result in part B. Fromnow on, the “Total Score” of Part Bwill be the final score of the report– “0” means “Non-Compliant”, “1”means Improvement Needed and“2” means Good.9.CAn the FACtory oBtAIn thereport In pdF FormAt?Factories have only been able todownload their CAPs (CorrectiveAction Plans) from the platform sinceSeptember 2012.
