I have learnt the importance of holding on

I’m always grateful to that worthy experience, which helps me finally learn the

importance of holding on.

When I was 12, I had to move to another city and study in a new middle school.

However, it was so tough that my grades had become worse and worse. In that case,

my mom had a talk with me. I could still remember that night, which made me

determine to try my best and keep going, so that I wouldn’t disappoint mom, as well

as couldn’t let myself down. As a result, I started to concentrate more on my study,

listened to the teacher carefully and held on asking them for help whenever I had

some problems. Besides, due to my warm heart, I have made plenty of friends who

were willing to share their happy moments and study methods with me. Everything

went smoothly, and my heart was full of the sense of achievement for the first time.

Through this experience, I have learnt that it take persistence to succeed,

attitude equally matters.

We learn about several methods of communication and knowledge every day.

But there is a thing which impressed me deeply and taught me that I had to make my

own effort.

It was my first year in a new school. I was really weak in English but I refused to

make any effort. So when an English competition appeared without a sign, I was in a

great anxiety. Then my friend came along. Every day after school, we practiced

together. He corrected my pronunciation and encouraged me whenever I’ve made

little progress. It gave me the endless strength. Surprisingly, for the first time, I kept

doing instead of giving up. I continued to train privately or in public. And finally,

when the date was counting down, I got into the best condition and won a high

place.

From then on, I always remember his words,” Nothing is impossible to a willing

heart.” And it was like a compass which lit my way in the darkness. Keep going on,
