Rule: You can get my apples by knowing the different pronunciations of “or”.

Find and discuss in 4.

Make a conclusion: “or” can not only be pronounced /ɔ:/, it can also be pronounced /ə/ and /ə:/.

2. Cartoon time

We got some apples and flowers for Tina, so let’s go into Tina’s house.

Miss Rabbit and Mr. Duc k come to Tina’s house, too. They are talking. Let’s listen.

Q: How many rooms do they talk about? What are they?

S1: Three. They are a living room, Tina’s bedroom and Bobby’s bedroom.

Step 1 Warm up.

1.Talk about the day, date and weather.

2.Show the students some pictures of different kinds of food and ask the questions:

T: What’s your favourite food? / What food do you like? / What do you like drinking? / Can we eat a lot of hamburgers or chips? / What food should we eat more?/ What food should we eat less?

3.Play a game: Picking apples.

Step 2 Presentation and practice

1.Show the students four groups of pictures, teache the students how to use a lot of,some,a little and a few to describe the pictures after comparing them.

2.Look and match.

4.Read the text and finish the exercise of True or False on page 28, discuss and introduce the dieting habbit of Mike and Yangling.
