本单元依据教材安排分为四个课时：sectionA-2课时，sectionB-2课时，self-check-1课时。

本单元的教学重点为<1>学习表现性格和相貌的新词汇，旧词复现巩固。

<２>能熟练运用used to 描述自己和他人曾经的性格、外貌以及爱好。

我依据新课程标准和学生的实际，对教材进行了重新的整合。

划分为三个专题：专题一：words and grammar主要通过学生的前置性预习以及课堂上情景活动的创设解决词汇和语法“used to”结构。

专题二：listening and oral practice主要针对学生的听说练习。

我将结合专题一的学习成果，自行编写听力材料，符合学生的实际情况。

专题三：reading and writing practice 主要针对学生的读写练习，帮助学生把专题一、专题二中的知识学以致用。

通过三个专题的学习，主要帮助学生通过听、说、读、写来学习如何正确使用“used to”结构描述或询问过去的情况，培养学生综合运用知识的能力能初步运用这一语言结构进交谈，培养同学间的友好相处，规范自己的行为，同时能提高他们的观察能力和判断能力，激发他们对学习英语的兴趣和热情，在接近生活常态的交际中能乐于模仿，敢于开口，积极参与，主动请教本节课是本单元学习的第一专题。

在英语课程标准中，提出了“知识与技能”“过程与方法”“情感态度与价值观”等多层面的教学目标，多样化的教学目标必然要求通过多样化的教学方式来实现。

整个单元围绕目标句型展开了听力、阅读、写作等的训练，并练习了目标语言的各种句式,重点突出，也易于引起学生的兴趣。

学情分析本单元的话题比较切合学生的实际，因而可供学生谈论的内容也较多，但需要教师的引导；学生之间通过三年的相处，对于现在的情况比较熟悉，但之间肯定也有许多不为他人所知的事情等等，因而也就建立了信息沟，为本课的顺利进行奠定了一定的基础。
