The answer, of course,is no one.The Outer Space Treaty, the international law signed by more than 20140 countries.states that the moon and other celestial bodies(天体)are the province of all mankind. No doubt that would annoy all of the people throughout the ages, like monks from th Middle Ages, who have tried to claim the moon was theirs. But ownership is different from property rights.People who rent apartments, for example, don’t own where they live, but they still hold rights. So with all of the upcoming missions(派遣团)to visit the moon and beyond, space industry thought leaders are seriously asking themselves how to deal with a potential land rush.“This is a very relevant discussion right now. We’ve got this wave of new lunar missions from around the world,”said William Marshall,a scientist in the small-spacecraft office at NASA.but who spoke this week at an event hoste d by NASA’s Co Lab,a collaborative(协力完成的)public-private working group. He was speaking from his personal interest and not on behalf of the agency. To be sure, the United States aims to send astronauts back to the moon by as early as 2015, in a mission that would include a long-term settlement.China and Israel, among others, are also working on lunar projects. And for the first time, several private groups are building spacecraft to land on the moon in an attempt to win millions of dollars in the Google Lunar X Prize. Some participants say that they plan to gain some property rights in the mission.71.In the passage the writer seems to be worrying that .A.the US will live on the moon foreverB.the moon will not be able to hold all mankindC.the potential land rush will become more and more frequentD.no one can answer the question“Who owns the moon?”72.“The Google Lunar X Prize”aims to.A.encourage private groups to land on the moonB.help NASA host a discussion about land rush on the moonC.help some developing countries to complete their lunarprojectsD.reward some countries or private groups which haven’t stepped on the moon73.The underlined word“that”in the first paragraph refersto .A.The Outer Space Treaty B.if and when they plant a flagC.the NASA working group D.monks from the Middle Ages 、74.What is the main idea of the last paragraph?A.The U.S.astronauts will live on the moon for longer time.B.Many countries and private groups plan to go to the moon.C.Why some private groups wish to land on the moon.D.It is easy to gain some property rights on the moon.75.We can infer from the passage that .A.it’s a w aste of time to work on the lunar projectB.“The Outer Space Treaty’’ forbids private groups to land on the moonC.all mankind has the fight to visit the celestial bodiesD.whenever you come to the moon, you’ll get some propertyrights on it高考适应性练习(三)英语第II卷(共45分)第四部分书面表达(共两节。

Although I have tried every means to improve it, like expanding my vocabulary and doing a large number of exercises, so far all my efforts have ended up in failure, which really makes me discouraged. To make things worse, this year reading will make up a higher percentage than ever before in the coming College Entrance Examination. Now with the important exam drawing near, I feel more and more stressed and worried. If I didn’t take effective measures, I wouldn’t be able to get through the exam and that would ruin my college dream.I’ll appreciate it very much if you can give me some advice on how to improve my reading ability effectively and I’m looking forward to your early reply.Best wishes.Yours,Li Hua。

Well, you can say that they "saved your bacon".If you, like me, were born in the year of the pig, then you are brave, thoughtful and loyal. The year of the pig is filled with good fortune.Happy Chinese New year!66.Why does the author say he is a pig?A.Because he was born in the year of 1995.B.Because he is interested in a pig and has good fortune.C.Because he was brought into the world in 1971.D.Because he believes in a pig.67.What can be inferred from the passage?A.Most parts of the pig are useful.B.Pigs are the only material of floor waxes.C.We use pigs for their meat.D.The heart valves of pigs are the same as human ones.68.Why does the author talk about the film Babe?A.To show pigs have also been important in the world of entertainment.B.To prove pigs can work as actors.C.To introduce the film to readers.D.To make readers happy.69.If you think poor Peter can have the chance to become an astronaut, you may say “”.A.saved his bacon B.pig outC.Pigs mightfly D.chauvinist pig70.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage?A.About Pigs B.Year of the PigC.Chinese Zodiac Signs D.Chinese PigsDBeijing West Railway Station is the biggest railway station I have ever seen.I once joked, "You will never know how many people there are in China unless you go to Beijing West Railway Station."I usually bought hard - berth (硬卧) tickets when I traveled by tram in China. The first thing I noticed is that Chinese berths are much smaller than those in other countries.Though I had to crouch on the berth, I could still manage to sleep on it, as I'm not thattall.China's trains operate efficiently. The work is distributed well among the attendants and trains depart punctually. The friendly nature of the Chinese passengers turns a trip on the train into a big family gathering, and they often share their food with other passengers.Foreigners, on the other hand, will say "hi" to each other, but rarely go further than that.On Chinese trains, I often saw such a funny ritual old couples would argue about whether they should put their luggage on or under the rack; young people would begin to fiddle with their mobile phones as soon as they were settled in their seats.I like traveling by train in China because it is cheap, safe and comfortable. In India and Spain, people are always knocking off the metal parts of the train to sell them for money.Bit by bit, thetrain is destroyed. That's why there are signs on the train, warning, "Stop stealing the train" ! There are signs on Dutch and Frenchtrains which read " No Sticking" to stop people from sticking pictures on the trains. On the other hand, on Chinese trains you can find signs like this, "Welcome to take our train."71.The passage is mainly about _____.A.experiencing China by traveling on trainsB.a foreigner's view on Chinese trainsC.different train systems in the worldD.a foreigner's impression on traveling in China72.What did Beijing West Railway Station remind the writer of?A.The biggest railway station in the worldB.The good management of Chinese trains.C.The smaller hard - berths compared with other countries.D.The large population of China.73.Which of the following statements matches the writer's opinion?A.Chinese passengers are friendlier than foreigners.B.Dutch and French trains are more special with pictures stuck on them.C.It's a pity that trains in India are often stolen.D.Young people pay more attention to their luggage.74.What's the writer's attitude toward Chinese train system?A.Critical. 第二节写作(One possible version)
Dear Sir,
I am very glad that some Summer Camps will be held abroad to help us improve our English
and learn more about English culture.
I am writing to apply for the UK Culture Summer Camp. To tell you the truth, I am crazy
about the UK’s culture and I hope the summer camp will help me better understand it. What’s
more, I personally prefer British English, so while traveling there, I hope I will have a chance to
communicate with local people and make some friends of my age, which I think will not only help
me learn more about its culture but also improve my English.
In addition, in order to get more chances to communicate with the British, I expect to live in a
home stay, especially those with guys of our age. I would appreciate it if you could take my
application into consideration.
Best wishes!
Yours truly, Li Hua。
