I liked being a mess. The desk that should have been clear so I could do my homework was always besieged1 with bowls of cereal and spoiled milk, old magazines, and Post-it notes I had forgotten to remember. My floor was a vacuum2 in itself, eating anything entering my room. It consumed3 sweaters, stuffed4 animals, socks, shoes. When I occasionally5 did laundry, I would dig up clothes I couldn’t even recall buying. My shelves overflowed with contai ners of little odds and ends: hair bands, chopstick, matches, loose mints, coins, earrings. I couldn’t always see these things, but I knew that they were safe, nestled somewhere on a shelf. Like old friends in a phone book, I figured that someday I would find all the loose strings6 and tie them together.

远在天边Lost and Found。
LOST AND FONUD。

lostandfound短作文英文Lost and Found。
1. I can't believe it! I lost my wallet today. It had all my cash, credit cards, and my ID. I'm freaking outright now. How could I be so careless? I remember having it in my pocket this morning, but now it's gone. Ugh, what a disaster!2. So, I was walking down the street, minding my own business, when I saw this shiny object on the ground. It turned out to be a pair of sunglasses. They were so cool, I couldn't resist trying them on. But then I got distracted and completely forgot about my wallet. I must have dropped it somewhere along the way. Talk about bad luck!3. I've been retracing my steps, searching high and low for my wallet. I even checked the places I haven't been to in ages. You never know, right? But so far, no luck. I'm starting to lose hope. Maybe someone found it and decidedto keep it. Or worse, maybe it got stolen. I can't help but feel so frustrated and angry at myself.4. I've been calling all the places I visited today, asking if anyone found a lost wallet. But everyone seems clueless. It's like my wallet vanished into thin air. I even left my contact information just in case, but Ihaven't received any calls yet. It's really disheartening.I don't know what I'm going to do without my ID and cards.5. On the bright side, losing my wallet made me realize how much I rely on it. It's a wake-up call to be more careful and organized. From now on, I'll make sure to keep my belongings secure and double-check before leaving any place. Losing something valuable like this is a tough lesson, but I'm determined to learn from it.6. Well, I guess all I can do now is hope for the best and keep an eye out for any updates. Maybe someone willfind my wallet and be kind enough to return it. Or maybe it will miraculously turn up in a place I least expect. Until then, I'll just have to deal with the inconvenience andtake extra precautions in the future.7. Losing something important like my wallet is definitely a hassle, but it's also a reminder that material possessions come and go. What truly matters are the people and experiences in our lives. So, even though I'm upset about losing my wallet, I won't let it ruin my day. Life goes on, and I'll make the best of it, with or without my wallet.8. Update: Guess what? I found my wallet! Turns out, I left it at a friend's house. I must have taken it out of my pocket while we were hanging out and forgot to put it back. I'm so relieved! Losing it was a nightmare, but now I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Lesson learned: always double-check before assuming something is lost. Phew!。

[Lost & Found]
Based on the book by Oliver Jeffers
It was an early autumn morning
just as the leaves were beginning to fall
when an unexpected visitor arrived at a little town by the sea
and with him began a remarkable story.
Elsewhere on this particular morning
a small boy was getting up in much the same way that he always did
looking forward to his normal routine, in his usual way!
But today was going to be anything but ordinary!
First impressions are a funny thing
and it's always wise to take a moment to consider this
when something new turns up on your doorstep.
To the boy this all seemed a bit worrisome.
And yet he was not the sort of person
to ignore someone who might need his help
and in any case his curiosity tended to get the better of it
and this was so very curious!
And even so,
an uninvited guest
could be a difficult situation at the best of times especially when some visitors just don't know
that they're already outstayed their welcome!
And so in a tricky situation
it's best to follow all the correct procedures.
But in this case there was really only one thing to do!
But it was a problem that would not be solved easily!
Now, anyone could be forgiven when faced with such an uninvited problem
for choosing the easy way out.
Then again some people just don't have it in them to do anything other than the right thing
As the day unfolded the small boy began to realize that helping this stranger find the way home
was a bigger problem than he had first thought!
And all this distraction was getting them nowhere so the boy decided that some proper thinking was called for
(WHERE PENGUINS COME FROM)
(HOW TO GET TO THE SOUTH POLE)
So much for the best-laid plans
as too often a small voice is not heard in a wider world!
Yet when things aren't going quite the way they should,
it occurs to some that if something is worth doing it's worth doing yourself...
A boat is a wondrous thing.
It carries with it all the possibilities
you can think of in this world
and with a little planning and a little daring
you can imagine all kinds of grand adventures!
And so the boy worked out an ambitious plan
to get his visitor back where he belonged;
but he never stopped to consider for a moment
just what his visitor was doing there in the first place!
Late into the night the small boy slept fitfully for tomorrow he was going to try
to cross the ocean to the other side of the world.
Another beautiful morning
and all the preparations were in place.
And for those who cared to look
a little boat would be seen
setting out on a tremendous and uncertain journey...
The day gave way to night.
And just as things seemed to be working out well they began to take a turn for the worse!
The very long way from shore,
small boat and both on board
were about to find out just what the sea could do
And there it flickered: The South Pole!
Finally the boy's work was done!
His task was complete!
It's harder than you think to say goodbye
to someone who's become part of your life...
especially when you haven't noticed it happening..
And so this particular farewell
is much harder than the boy imagined it would be;
for although a parting is always sad
an awkward one is even more so.
But you do what you have to do and just get on with things.
Suddenly the boy understood
that perhaps someone wasn't lost
but really is lonely
and maybe they weren't the only one...
It's all began with someone lost and someone found;
who is to say which was which?
There was a boy and there was a penguin,
strangers from opposite sides of the ocean.
And like the beginning of any friendship,
there's this remarkable story indeed!
