1) Purpose and Scope:
To establish a standard testing method to determine the adhesion properties of painted surfaces.

4) Equipment / Supplies:
3.1) 3M Scotch Tape (Model: # 600 1 inch wide)
3.2) 3M Scotch Tape (Model: # 670 1 inch wide) Use only when # 600 is not available.
3.3) Razor Blade.
5) Procedure:
[Note: Prior to testing, all products shall be removed from their packaging and pre-conditioned to room temperature (unless otherwise specified) for a minimum of 1-hour.] SET UP AND MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
5.1) Using the razor, cut 10 horizontal and 10 vertical lines within a 1 inch square. Ensure each cut goes through to the base material.

5.2) Apply a strip of tape directly over the cross hatched area. Press the tape down to ensure there are no bubbles inside be sure to leave a folded edge on one end of the tape.
5.3) Quickly remove the tape in less than 1 second.
5.4) Check tape for paint pigment.
6) Failure Definitions:
If there is any paint on the tape or any exposed base material on the product.
The product shall be considered to have failed the test.
