Introduction
Communication is happening in our daily life. People share their thoughts,
ideas and feelings to each other. People become friends, express emotions
and build solid relationships through communication.
Team communication creates and improves team spirit and culture, and it
is also a necessary tool and strategy to complete the final goal. The aim of
team communication is the integration of thought, opinion, affection and
inspiration. Effective communication means a two way information
sharing process which involves one party sending a message that is easily
understood by the receiving party.
There are several methods to build an effective communication team. The
first way is bi-directional communication. Through this way, team
members can talk with each other to make an agreement when they meet
challenge or difficulty on the team work. Besides, team members can
accept others’ suggestions to correct their mistakes through proper
communicative skills, which could improve the quality of the assignment.
The second way is multiple communicative patterns. A team leader
should give encouragement and support to team members and fairly treat
everyone. What’s more, team leader pays more attention to trust that is
the foundation of communication. A team will improve their team

Method
Overview:
The purpose of this research is to analyze the importance of effective
communication on a team. In order to investigate people’s perspectives
about effective communication, we designed an online survey to collect
responses, which were random, representative and objective. We
collected data in a short time.
Participants:
The research collected data from an online survey. Those responders are
random, which is beneficial for us to illustrate the topic. Some of were
students, co-op students, and others were in full-time employment.
Design:
The survey created six questions related to the research topic, which
asked respondents who have team experiences. Furthermore, their
answers were designed to record for the further analysis. We designed
powerful and interesting questions to attract respondents’ attention. For
example, we designed a question that is different scales to show how
much you agree with the list of statements about effective communication,
in this way, respondents could specifically give their views. In addition,
we designed an open-ended question so that respondents can freely
express their perspectives about it, which is helpful for us to complete the The importance of effective communication on a team

survey. Thus a diversity of responses would emerge.
Data analysis
From our research Effective Communication Skills in a Workplace,
96%of the responders are young adults under 29 years old and 72% of
them are students. The number of female is a little bit higher than the
male, which are 56% and 44% separately. To be specific, our research is
about the attitude toward effective communication in workplace from
young adults perspectives. The first three questions are asking about
people’s self-evaluation within a team.
The first question is that I often effectively communicate with others on
my team. Almost 42% responded that they feel moderate when evaluating
their performance in teamwork. Only 21.05% reported that they greatly
agreed that they could have effect communication with people in the team.
Those data tell us that people are not quite satisfied with their
communication skills. They should adopt some strategies to improve their
communication skills within a team.
